Great post! Simple yet practical advice. I especially liked the tip on creating more of what you need. Relying on just one source of income these days is unstable. I've written on multiple sources of income on my blog, and so couldn't agree more with your advice.

I think it is positive because finally people are starting to realize you should only buy what you can afford. We have a lovely new house, a baby and #2 on the way and I only work part time. Money is super tight and we never go out and we are slowly saving for a dining room table and other things for the house. People think we are crazy for going without a table and we often feel like something is wrong with us for not just charging the things we want. Its nice to come to places like this and realize others have the same way of thinking that we do.

While in general I do agree with you, the economy issue is somewhat cyclical. If we all pull back our spending, companies suffer, jobs our lost, etc etc etc, and we're right back where we started :)
