The monthly Extra Care Bucks (ECBs) offers at CVS are not that bad this month. There are actually three Free After ECBs items:
Buy Children’s Throat Cooler Ice Pops 6ct, Get $4.99 ECBs (Limit 5)
Buy NasoGel Drip Free gel spray 1.52 oz, Get $7.99 in ECBs (Limit 2)
Buy Nutra Trim Weight Management chewing gum 48 ct, Get $3.99 ECBs (Limit 3)
To see the complete list of monthly deals check out this post by Alyssa at Kingdom First Mom.
Hopefully some of the rest of the offers will be on sale during the month and could be free after coupon and ECBs. How do you do the monthly deals? Do you get them all at once at the beginning of the month? or do you use them as fillers as the month goes by?

Hi! I am Mercedes and this is my blog Common Sense with Money! Helping other people live better, spend less, and save more is something I am very passionate about. I combine simple frugal living tips and smart shopping techniques to help moms across the U.S. become better home economists. Thank you for visiting my blog.

If it is a really good Free after ECB deal I try to get it right away. Otherwise I just scatter them throughout the month as I find them. I usually have a hard time finding most of the monthly deals. Thanks for the heads up on the January deals.
I got the free items already since I don’t trust my store to order enough or re-order by the end of the month even. My store was already out of the nose drops (whatever those were called) on 1/1/09!!
I did find out though that after buying the NutraTrim gum and the Throat Coolers, my receipt said I had not reached my limit. The limit says 2 but my receipt says it’s 3! Going back today…..
There are coupons out there for the NasoGel ($2 off) and a Buy One Get One Free coupon for the Throat Coolers. Check out iheartcvs.com and click on the January CVS monthly deals on the right hand side. She has links to the websites for both coupons.
I also read at HCW that the Naso Gel has a rebate offer inside the package (I haven’t gotten it yet to confirm). Combine that with the printable coupons available, and it’s a really good moneymaker. The throat cooler pops will be a great one after coupon, as well. As far as when I get them, it just depends on if it’s something I really want or a good moneymaker. Otherwise, I wait til it’s convenient or works into my ECB spending needs.
There is also a deal on Soy Joy bars. There are 6 pack boxes on sale for $6 and you get $6 ECB for each, limit FIVE per card/customer!!! Should be good through 2/14 ( ? )Ours actually had an endcap display that advertised the whole deal for you (sweeeeeeet!)
HTH
This is a pretty decent month, I am looking forward to it! I try to get the monthly deals early on, since they tend to disappear quickly and are rarely restocked.
Thanks so much for the mention, Mercedes! I do appreciate it.
I’m looking forward to building my bucks by using the throat cooler coupons!
