Free Dove Soap Bars at Walgreens

I just found out about another freebie you can get at Walgreens this week. There is a monthly Register Rewards promotion going on right now through 3/28 on Dove Products: Buy 4, get $2, Buy 6, get $6, Buy 8, get $10.  This promotion is unadvertised but you may be able to find tags at your stores.

The individual Dove Soap bars are included in this deal.  They sell regularly for $1.59 but there’s a coupon in page 9 of this week’s ad that makes them $0.99 each.  You can get paid to buy eight.  Here’s how your transaction would look like

$12.72 when you buy eight bars
-$4.80 when the in-ad coupon gets applied to your order
=$7.92 plus tax out of pocket and you get $10 RR back!

I may be making a mid-week visit to my own store tomorrow. These and the Johnson’s Baby products are great for donating.  Then I can use both $10 RRs I get from both deals to lower my out of pocket next week when I buy the Huggies Diapers.  Don’t forget to check the rest of weekly Walgreens deals here.

Thanks Thrifty Mama!

ETA:  Enforcing the coupon limit will depend on your cashier.  The coupon or register will not enforce a limit on their own.

Help! I’m confused. The coupon says a limit of 3 so how do you get the coupon discount on all 8 bars? Thanks!!

Hi Miss,

Enforcing the coupon limit will depend on your cashier. the coupon will apply to every item in your store. I guess you can consider this one YMMV.

If the register rewards doesnt print out… is there a way for me to show them that it should have. I dont see the register reward ad in the paper.. or is it listed elsewhere..

Thanx!

No, Tina there isn’t unless the RR is tagged at your stores or you had a cash register ad print out for you. You would have to call the Catalina company to get you RR. Read my FAQ section for more info.

I just got back from Walgreens a few minutes ago and the Dove soap deal worked just fine. There was RR info listed above the Dove body wash items and it did not list the bar soap as one of the items (it also said, Buy 8 get $8)…but, I bought 8 bars of soap and got $10 back!

Arrrgh, if only I liked Dove Soap! Dove soap put some type of chemical in it over the past three years that causes a reaction to my skin. Any other types of soaps with the same deal? LOL

I wish we had Walgreens here! I would love to get this deal :)

PS – can you post this deal on your site: http://cvs-saver.blogspot.com/2009/03/220-diapers-for-only-123.html

Thanks!!

My walgreens wouldn’t let me buy more than 3. Even at the full price! They said it wasn’t fair to clear off all the product from the shelves. She added a jab of guilt in saying, “We have to think of others.”

THank you!! I ran out to Walgreens as soon as I read your post this afternoon and bought the last 8 bars, and got the RR! I’m saving up for next week’s diaper deal and also for the monthly free items. I guess I didn’t “think of others” – gulp – :D . There’s a lot of competition in my town, so it’s rare I can actually do a deal like this. I’m telling you what, I’m going to be at Walgreens at midnight on Saturday to get those diapers!

That’s funny that Debra’s cashier is so ‘conscious’ of others. I never get in on the freebie/moneymakers, because people always beat me to them. I know the cashiers aren’t telling those people to be considerate of others (me included!). If I ever run into that, I’ll throw a fit!

I did the Dove deal last night and it was great! This has been the best RR deal week at Walgreens in a while. I have $16 in RR right now!

You know, I read a rumor on one of the coupon forums that WG is going to stop doing the monthly rebates and go to RRs only in April or May. I really hope they don’t, because the RRs have way too many problems, but it sure seems like they’re “phasing in” more of the RR deals. Hopefully it’s just coincidence and just a rumor.

Hi Heather,
from what I understand this is not a rummor but it has been confirmed by Corporate to people who have emailed them about it. I haven’t written about it because I am trying to confirm what it s they are switching to.

I found a great deal at Walgreen’s for those of you that use eye drops. “Blink Tears” 7.99 get 7.99 back in register rewards. Use $2.00 “Blink Tears” coupon in 3/1 inster. Make $2.00!

Better deal for me, the bars were only $1.39 each and the $10 RR printed out.

I just got back from doing this deal and it worked magically! The in-ad coupon did only take off 2.40 for the 3 bars it didn’t discount for all 8 but oh well. I still came out ahead. I did get my 10.00 RR though! These were priced at 1.29 at my store. I also did the Colgate Max and with my 1.00 off IP it was a real money maker. The RR tag above the product said 3.29 get 3.29 RR back..haha I got 3.50! Go Me!
