Spring Hill Nurseries wants YOU to put THEM to the test. They are offering $20 worth of free plants, all you need to pay is shipping. My husband and I tried Spring Hill Nurseries on our first home back in PA. The plants were shipped properly but I don’t think we planted the trees very well because they took a while to grow. I think I will give this a try with annual or perennial flowers for the flowerbeds. Have you tried Spring Hill before? What’s been your experience?
I don’t want to forget to thank Erin for sharing this on her blog.

I tried to follow the like but It took me to someone else’s shopping basket (I think) Help!!!
Try again Bec, I just changed it.

I got in on this deal last year and was pleased. Keep in mind, they will only ship items when it is time to plant them. For instance I ordered bulbs before summer last year and didn’t get them until late fall because that is when they are supposed to go in the ground. I have been pleased with them as they have bloomed beautifully.
Apparently the free $20 is an ongoing thing with them.
Hi Erin,
Thanks for reminding us that they ship when the plants are ready to be planted according to planting zone. I also had forgotten to thank you for the tip.

Check out their complaint level at the Beter Business Bureau; they seem to have some customer service issues.

The Free $20 isn’t obvious on the Spring Hill website, how do I find it?
Holly,
The offer is right at the top of the page in bolded and red colored font.

Darn! I might’ve read this a little too late. I don’t see this deal in bolded and red at the top. I clicked around various pages too, nada.
I can’t seem to find it either, Lori. Too bad! Just a few hours too late…and I could have used some help starting up my garden. Oh well!
I found it by going to Erin’s blog. It is still working!
I can’t find it off this site or Erin’s blog. Where is it listed on Erin’s blog?
At the top of THIS page click on “on her blog” go to “Garden” scroll down to Thursday Oct 2nd, 2008, click on “who wants free or cheap plants” and that will take you to Friday May 16, 2008 and you click on “$20 off your first”, and there it will be at the top of the page in red…the word FREE…..hope this helps!
Hey,
The more I think about this onw, I think the page I initially posted was a cached version. The website since then seems redesigned and I do not see the offer anymore.
It is still offered when you put the items in your cart. My neighbor just did it.
Thanks Erin for confirming that. I am going shopping tonight.

I’ve ordered several plants from Spring Hill and have overall been pleased. Rose bushes have done wonderful. I’ve been very happy with those. Some of the perenials I ordered were smaller than I anticipated and so took a while to fill in well. Longer than buying a more mature plant bought at a nursery or home store. But they did ok. You just might not get the full effect for a season or two. No experience with their bulbs or annuals.
is the offer still available? I couldn’t find the link
thank you
