I am looking forward to the diaper deals, but have a question – whenever I generate RR, I know I can’t use them to rollover onto another identical deal, so I have to buy other things, and buy them within a few weeks. I’m kind of overwhelmed at the thought of having to spend $20 or $30 in RR in a few weeks where there may not be that much stuff that I need – any thoughts on how to make the most of them? (Also, my experience has been even when I use RR to generate RR on a different deal, the new RR don’t print out).

Jennifer,
How frustrating! I hear you about the having many RRs. I intend to roll them the following week with the Dove RR deal. the Dove DEOs full size will be on sale and after coupons and RR they come out to be free. Then I “may” buy some of the FAR items or get some Walgreens Diapers since they will be 2/$9 again.
On the Butterball / ConAgra ESR…. Can I buy items in separate transactions and submit all my receipts that add up to the $10? For instance, I want to use a few of the in ad coupons for Butterball broth, but I don’t want nine cans. I was going to wait to see if any of the other products went on sale later in the month since I have a few coupons for some of the other things. Thanks!
Hi Lana,
Yes you can buy any combination of Conagra products that best suits your needs.
Mercedes
Any idea if the Huggies deal is included in the 8-page ad? In Utah, we started getting the smaller ad and haven’t been part of lots of the great deals lately. Any idea?
Brooke,
I have never taken a look at the new/shorter ads. Sorry. i do hope you get the same ad though.
Mercedes
Also, I had a cashier (at a WAGS I don’t usually go to) the other day for the first time tell me that if I use coupons or RR on a deal that it won’t print out new RR from that deal for me. I had never had that problem before EVER, so I said, “I’ve never had that problem at the other WAGS I go to. So, please just try.” What was she going to do….not let me use my coupons? Well, what do you know, the RR printed out. She sassily said, “Do you have some special ‘in’ with the Catalina company or something?” I said, “No. I just never had heard before anything about not using coupons. It always works for me.” She said, “Well, if you look in the fine print, Ma’am, it forbids that.” I said, “I’ll take note. Thanks.” And walked off with my bag of stuff AND RR, only paying 1.45. I looked at the RR fine print later, and it says NOWHERE on it that I can’t use RR or coupons. But the poster above said she HAS had that problem. I do NOT want to keep doing all these deals that I pay with coupons and RR if the policy is changing and I can’t do that. What’s the point of RR and coupons if you can’t use them???
Has anyone tried buying $50 worth of Huggies and got 2-$10 register rewards? Will it work?
Monica,
sorry but that won’t work.
Mercedes
Okay, me again. I’m new to all this…. Can I buy the combo of ConAgra in different transactions, though?
Also, random question…..At Kroger when they have a BOGO, the items actually ring up at half price each. How do they ring up at Walgreens? On the receipt does it show one item at full price, and one at like nothing or does it show them each as half price? Does that make sense? I am asking because I was looking at next week’s ad and saw Nature Made was BOGO. I submit my Nature Made vitamins to Caregiver’s Marketplace, and I was wondering if I submit the receipt, will they give me cash back for both or just one? Thanks for all your help! I love your site!
——–Mercedes Here——–
Lana, this depends, sometimes it rings one full price and the other at $0.00. In other cases the bogo discount is taken off at the bottom of the receipt. BUT for the caregivers market place the rebate is base on the number of items you buy not the $$ you spend.
Huggies gentle care only comes in sizes Newborn,Size 1 and Size 2. Huggies Natural Fit goes from 3-6. Just an FYI for those planning out their shopping trips.
all the dove items were bottomed out by the time i heard about it. we’re hitting 4 wags in our area tomorrow. surely i’ll get to take advantage of the dove deal!
Mercedes – you always do such a great job putting together the deals for Walgreens each week. Thanks so much for your hard work!
Doesn’t the Dove Deal go all month? I’m having the same problem. But I figure I’ll try some other time. (The week of the 15th, Dove is 25% off….another time it’ll be out I’m sure….)
Also, I read on another site that the huggies coupons actually work on all huggies diapers and wipes. I put in the barcodes in the coupon decoder that http://www.stlmommy.com has on her website and sure enough, it says it is coded to work on all huggies. Now, whether your cashier will be a stickler about the wording / picture that’s a different story. (My cashier that ALWAYS seems to be there no matter when I go reads and scrutinizes everything.) If they scan it though for any diapers/wipes, it should go through.
This morning a friend and I tried to use the Glade Scented Oil Sense and Spray Starter Kit coupon buy one get one free. We were combining it with 2/8 SS insert coupon and the easysaver coupon. The manager wouldn’t allow it.
Can I print out my coupons in Black and White? A friend said she did and Walmart took them, but I never have. I thought they might look like a scanned copy.
——-Mercedes Here——-
Juanita, you should be able to print in black and white. Each coupon has a unique trachink code that cashier’s or other store personnel can use and verify that the coupon is legitimate. read the very fine print in your coupon.
Hi Mercedes. Love your blog! I am just wondering how you are able to use 4 different coupons on only 2 items (like the Glade Lasting Impressions deal) or using 4 coupons on the Huggies deals when you only buy 3 packages of them? Thanks for the info.
——Mercedes Here—–
Wendi, In the case of the lasting impressions you are purchasing two. So you use one BOGO coupon to get one of them free. Then the $ off manufacturer coupon to pay less for the one you need to buy to get the second one free. Then you use a storecoupon, the one in the easysaver catalog. However using a BOGO and $$ off manufacturer coupon is very YMMV.
Similar with the huggies deal, you are using a combination of manufacturer and store coupon per item.
I went to Walgreens last night at midnight so that I would be guaranteed to get the diaper deal. Much to my dismay our first transaction did not print out a RR. The manager said it was because I used a 10 RR that I got when I purchased the Dove last week. I thought that you were able to use another form of RR as long as it wasn’t from that product.
My second transaction worked out perfectly…but because I didn’t get the first RR, it makes my diapers more out of pocket.
For some reason the Glade did not make me 4.00…but I am not complaining because they were free. Still a Great deal. Thank you Mercedes
Wow. What a great start to the week. I was able to save over $90 at Walgreens and come out of pocket $0 (thanks to a gift card), but even if I didn’t have that it would have only cost me about $8.27 (after tax). You can see my post here http://couponkatie.com/the-proof-3-8-09-saved-over-90-and-spent-0-out-of-pocket/
Thanks Mercedes!
wwent to wags 1st thing this morning to ge the diapers and they told me I could only use 1 coupon per transaction- if I wanted to use 3 coupons I had to do 3 separate transactions. I tried persuading the mgr otherwise but I walked out empty handed. Have you ever heard of this ?????
Plan your trip right and the Huggies deal can be a MONEYMAKER!!!
http://thegroceryweekly.blogspot.com/2009/03/huggies-money-maker-scenario.html
OMG!! Thanks for helping put this deal together!! I can confirm that the Huggies coupons work on ANY Huggies product! Woo HOO!!! I got four packs of Size 4 Jumbos and 7 big packs of wipees for (essentially) $14.xx!!!! Once again, OMG!!!! We are set on wipes for a year!!! BTW, every Walgreens seems to operate on their own!
We have two, on opposite ends of the street. One is almost always witchy about any coupons, and the other literally bends over backwards to accommodate any coupon thing you want to do! (I guess you know which one I went to! LOL!)
I’m new to shopping at Walgreens. I tried most of the deals posted here and didn’t get any register rewards. I talked to the manager and was told that they won’t print if you use coupons. Is this correct? If it isn’t, where can I find all of the details on shopping at Walgreens, so I can bring the policy with me. Thanks!
—–Mercedes Here—-
Hi Aira,
How frustrating. I have a couple of ideas though: first make sure the catalina machine is on otherwise the RRs won’t print. Second, contact corporate. if coupons are excluded then they need to advertise the offer that way. it’s called false advertising and it is illegal. Make sure corporate contacts the manager to set him right.
You may want a keep a copy of ads that advertised RR deals and also suggest you using coupons. You just need to look for them and keep a copy. The next time your manager tells you that you can’t use coupons show him that ad.
The Butterball broth in Dallas is listed as regularly being $0.79, so a $0.10 discount per can with the Walgreens coupon. I had to buy 13 cans to get over the $10.00. Wanted to share in case so others can check the price.
Anyone have a problem with finding Smart balance deal. My Walgreens in San Francisco doesn’t have it in the ad.
Unfortunately, the “Diaper Deal” did not work for me at Walgreens as well as I had hoped. My RR did not print after my 3 pkgs of diapers rung up. The cost of the diapers was $30 originally, but after coupons this was reduced to $19. The store manager explained that the total had to amount to $25 AFTER coupons in order to qualify for the RR. Oh well. At least the diapers were a bargain. Thanks for the deal tips, Mercedes!
—-Mercedes Here—-
Sally,
You can still get $10 RR directly from the catalina company. Please check out my faqs for more info.
Sally, that is NOT the case! Please call or email Walgreens/ and or the Catalina company about this. My total was about $14 after coupons for THREE transactions, every time the RR’s printed. Odds are good his Catalina machine was malfunctioning or turned off (maybe just to discourage shoppers, who knows). But don’t let this go. The Catalina company is very easy to work with too (they’ve corrected Kroger stuff for me before when the machine “ate” the coupon!) Just make sure you hold onto your receipt. You’ll need it if you’re gonna do the Caregiver’s Marketplace rebate, as well (you can get back $.75 for each pack of Huggies you buy!!)
HTH
Dear Andrea,
Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to respond to my concern about the diaper deal. Unfortunately, I’m afraid that I can’t follow up on the problem I experienced for this reason: When the store manager told me that I did not qualify for the RR, I became frustrated and returned one pk of diapers to the shelf. (I really didn’t need 3 pks for my grandchild anyway. Was only buying them in order to qualify for the RR.) Now I wish that I had bought all 3 so that I could follow up as you suggested. I’ll know better next time. Again, I THANK YOU for your advice and for sharing your experience!!!!
Sally
Just to throw my experience in there: I purchased 3 jumbo packages of Huggies yesterday, used 3 $3 off coupons, and after that a $10 RR did print out. But I can sympathize with other commenters’ experiences about them not printing out when you use other RR from different deals to pay for them. This is why, in my experience, I’ve only been able to “roll” RR if I use them to buy Free After Rebate items where I then can get money back.
I do find it interesting, though, that you can contact the Catalina company and get reimbursed directly from them. I may do that in the future.
Just a question – your website says :
*Deal Idea*
$30 buy five Huggies Wipes Packs (if Walgreens carries Gentle Care type)
Use five $5/1 internet printable coupons
Pay $5 out of pocket and get $10 RR back.
Do you mean pay $15 OOP and get $10 back
Also, I see a comment above about paying with RR to get RR in an order. I know you can’t roll RRs into the same RR order, but can I used the $8 RR from last weeks eye drops rr deal into the huggies deal this week?
I used my $10 Dove RR to buy my Huggies diapers and I received a new RR for $10 from Huggies. I also used the coupons. So, $30 for 3 pkgs., 3/$5 coupons, and received $10 RR. In end, I paid $5. I have done this at 2 different Walgreens.
Cassie, thanks so much for your response! That’s what I’m hoping to do!
http://themoneyherder.com/2008/09/rebate-rewards-making-walgreens-work.html
For future reference!
I found this from another blog (who originally found this!
!)and it really helps out “getting” the whole RR program! Personally, I’m a CVS gal- love how easy it is to roll ECB’s and our CVS’s all are staffed with just the best employees who are wonderfully helpful!!! Whereas, only one of our Walgreens’ has that level of CS.Anyway, hope this helps this deal as well as future ones! Oooh, and BTW, these coupons are working on PullUps as well!!!!!
Hi!!
I did the huggies deal this morning and my $5 off coupons went through fine and my RR printed, but the coloring book coupon beeped and the manager said it couldn’t be combined with any other offer?? Do you know how I could have avoided the “beep”? I even added gum so i would have 4 items and 4 coupons?? Thanks so much for your help!!!
Hi Amy,
No idea why they coupons would beep for you. They went through fine for me three times. It’s possible the coupons are not activated at your store. It would have been a good idea to try just the coloring book coupons without anything else or in any of the other products the coloring book coupons work in. It probably would have proved the point they are not activated at your store.
Hi Mercedes,
THANK YOU so much for all of your great tips and posts!
Last week I tried using the Johnson and Johnson coloring book coupon, and it beeped. The manager pointed out that on the bottom of the coupon it states that it can not be combined with any other offer. So I only got to use it once (he took a 1.00 off of one of my baby powders), thus making it less of a deal for me, but still way better than full price
.
Hope this helps someone!
Mary
I have a question about the wipes. Can anyone pls let me know if the Gentle care 262 count work for the deal? TIA
I just bought a total of 6 jumbos (two separate orders) and got the $10 RR rewards each time. The first time I used the $5 coupons (x3) and the 2nd time the $3 coupons (x3). I have one in size 3 now and am pregnant again, so this is an awesome deal for me.
The downside is that the cashier, the regular one at my local Wags, wouldn’t let me use previous RRs on my purchase saying I could only use a total of 3 coupons since I only had 3 items. She also wouldn’t let me use the ES $2 Fruitis coupon with the $1 manny coupon saying the item was only $.99 after the WAgs coupon. I plan to go to a different Wags and see if I get the same result w/ these issues.
My walgreens experience was great…I ended up with 25 packages of diapers and used coupons for all of them. The lady there told me that I could use the coupons for any huggies item..therefore I was able to use some $5 off on pullups and on wipes that were not gentle care. They all scanned and worked just great! So, if you don’t want Gentle Care diapers, use it on another product, as long as it scans in your good!
25 packages of diapers?! Wow, where did you get $25 coupons!?!
I mean where did you get 25 coupons, certainly not $25 coupons
Where can i get the easysaver catalog
Thanks for the tips Mercedes!
)
I had a newbie question on the Fructis Hair care deal: is there a limit of 1 item per transaction ? I mean if I got two of the $2 off Easy Saver catalog coupons + two $1 off manuf. coupons. Is that allowed? I didn’t see a limit on the ad, but I was sure you’d know the answer to this! Thanks in advance
What a fabulous deal I got on the Fructis Hair Deal: 3 products with all the coupons i.e. newspaper, easy saver, I paid 99 cents! INCREDIBLE. Thanks for helping us save money in a time when it’s so important!!!
