Here’s a company stepping up to the plate in this tough times: Walgreens will be offering free care clinics at their Take Care Clinics to those who lose their job and health insurance after 3/31/09. The free clinics will run Mom-Fri from 11am to 3pm. The clinics will offer free treatment for respiratory problems, allergies, infections and skin conditions, among other ailments. Free services won’t include free checkups, vaccinations or other injections, but things that people may need from urgent care center or even an emergency room. Spouses and children are also eligible for free services if they are also uninsured. Find the Take Care Clinic closest to you here. Although demand is uncertain the free clinic hours are expected to run through the end of 2009. Read more about this here.
Thank you Mummydeals for bringing this very generous offer from Walgreens to my attention.

I wish they had a Take Care Clinic in our area! We have a lot of unemployed people in our FPU class who could really use the help.
Thanks for posting about this. Just so you know, you (or someone in your family) also have to be a patient in a Take Care clinic before you lose your job. So if you think you may lose your job and health insurance in the next few months, go on in to a Take Care clinic before then so you can be in their system and therefore eligible for this service.
