I have good and bad news for you today! let’s start with the good one: Kmart Super Doubles have been confirmed to be taking place next week. This means that coupons with a face value of up to $2 will be doubled. Here’s the email received by an OH reader:

All of our OH stores are participating. We invite you to visit any of the participating stores. Below are the details of the promotion:

As you can see from this email, the bad news is that they have lowered the number of coupons you can double at a time. In past double coupon promotions you could double 25 coupons at a time and this time that limit has been lowered to 10 coupons. You may need to bring your whole family with you to be able to double all of your coupons in order to avoid multiple coupons. I am really sad to see that new limit. I will definitely be limiting what I will be getting (IF my store is participating, I don’t know yet).
You should be able to confirm if your store is participating tomorrow when the sales circular for next week becomes available on the Kmart website. Just enter your zipcode in this page tomorrow and you should be able to see the super double coupon promotion advertised on the front of the circular IF your store is participating. I am going to try to have coupon matches available for you by Saturday at the latest, I guess I have a trip to Kmart in my near future to scope out the deals. Anyone want to help?
What do you think of the new lower limit on coupons that can be doubled?

I contacted Kmart yesterday and all stores in my area will be participating, so at least I don’t have to drive too far!
The amount of coupons is really disappointing, so I guess I’ll have to plan at least a couple of trips to my local Kmart next week!
I am in Ohio and also emailed yesterday and in the email I received it said…
Thank you for contacting Kmart regarding the Double Coupon Event. We
appreciate your interest in this promotion.
We currently have no information about future promotions.
Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We appreciate your
business and value you as a Sears Holdings customer. We certainly hope
you will continue to make Sears Holdings your choice for quality and
value.
I live 30 minutes away from a Kmart so even if they have the event here I will not go. It is simply not worth the gas if there is only a 10 coupon limit.
I’m actually a little bit happy about the new limit because my store is always cleaned out even if I get there early on the first day, and they don’t restock during the week. I finally quit going to doubles because it wasn’t worth my time. Maybe with this new limit I’ll be able to at least get a few things. I guess we’ll find out!
MaryEllen,
That’s actually a very good point!
Mercedes
typo: “As you can see from this email, the bad news is that they have lowered the number of emails you can double at a time.” emails s/b coupons…
I’m really disappointed about the 10 limit. That’s ridiculous. A quick way to lose customers. Packing up 3 kids to get to the store only to have 10 Qs doubled really stinks!

New limit doesn’t bother me. I usually have difficulty finding enough bargains to use 25 coupons. I guess I’m on board with the other poster who is hoping that the shelves won’t be wiped clean before we get there.
Also, in honor of full disclosure, my local K-mart is less than 2 miles away…and is next door to Kroger (they share a parking lot)…and immediately across the street from Meijer….and diagonally across the street from Walgreens…which is directly across the street from Rite Aid. It’s a coupon Mecca. If I had to travel (and/or take kids with me..my boys are 13yo and 16yo and would rather scrub toilets than shop) I’m sure I’d have a different outlook.

Just got next weeks ad in the mail, and the Orlando area is doing it, yay
WELL GO TO A DIFFERENT REGISTER..PAY UP FRONT, THEN MAYBE ELECTRONICS..I GUESS IF YOU LIVE CLOSE TO A KMART ITS WORTH IT.. I DO SEE A POINT..TEN COUPONS..UNLESS THOSE ITEMS ARE FREE ITS WORTH IT..PACKING UP THE KIDS AND EVERYTHING ELSE..I WOULD RATHER BE CLEANING..LOL
i called the naperville, il store on odgen and they said they don’t know if they are participating! won’t know until the sunday circular comes out…hmmmm, my guess is no! i hope i am wrong!!!
The 10 coupon limit stinks for those of us who live 45 minutes + away. I may skip this time.
Thanks Mercedes for the news!
Hoping my store participates this time! I was all excited for last time, then … nothing.
I dont see any for WA, any one else see if we are getting doublers?

So does that mean WA will finally get doubles?!!
It looks like Zene, BUT it’s best to confirm tomorrow with your ad or by calling Kmart corporate directly.
mercedes
I just receieved an email from Kmart and all stores in Georgia will be participating!
Couple questions. Last time my Kmart cashier said they wouldn’t take internet Q’s. Anyone else have that problem? Also, what does “Doubled up to current retail price of a single item” mean? Does that mean if I buy a $1.50 item and have a coupon for $1 off then they will only take $1 off, or the whole $1.50? I’m confused…
before we know it, it’s going to be 2 coupons.
i don’t work too awfully far from our kmart, i will be going everyday at lunch! ha!
@Stephanie: Last time it was on the rules that they weren’t accepting internet coupons. Apparently they will accept them this time!
Yes, it means that if something costs $1.50, and you use a $1/1 coupon, the coupon will be worth $1.50 instead of $2.00.
Hi Mercedes,
Just wanted to let you know that Pennsylvania stores are participating according to this email response from Kmart:
Thank you for contacting Sears Holdings Corporation regarding our Kmart
double coupon event. This event runs from 6/7 through 6/13 for select
Kmart store locations. Coupons of up to $2.00 in value will be doubled
and up to 10 coupons per customer per day will be doubled. This event
does not include Kmart Store Coupons, Kmart pharmacy coupons or copies
of manufacturer coupons. According to our records all of the stores in
your region are participating in this event.
Once again, thank you for your interest in our Double Coupon Event. We
appreciate your business and value you as a Sears Holdings customer. We
certainly hope you will continue to make Sears Holdings your choice for
quality and value.
I have to say that I’m not bothered by the limit. The first few months I was having a very difficult time with everything doubling correctly. This last month I started a new strategy. I did smaller transactions. I did all of my “free” after q items first, that way I knew I should only be paying tax. The second transaction was anyting that was a quarter after q. That way it was easy to count. The third was everything else. I just go out to my car and back in. I have never had a problem with them saying anything. The other thing to keep in mind. Read the fine print of the actual ads. Remember the ads are printed weeks in advance and just like IP q’s it took several weeks for the ads to catch up with the new policies. If the ads say 25 then the store will have to honor the print ads regardless of corporate policy.
So mine says ‘up to $2′ so does that mean they are not doubling $2 coupons this time?
Hi Tammi,
It does include coupons up and and including $2 in value.
Mercedes
Im guessing just like the Albertsons doublers that say “up to 1.00″ they will double anything UP TO 2.00 and 2.00 itself.
I got an email from Kmart and all Virginia stores will be participating!
Below is the response I got about printable coupons…
Kmart’s Print-at-Home Internet Coupon Acceptance Policy:
Effective March 1, 2009 , Kmart will accept industry-standard, secure
print-at-home coupons. This will provide additional benefits and
incentives to our customers to help them save their money at Kmart.
Kmart can only accept print-at-home coupons if they scan properly at
checkout. Legitimate printable coupons are delivered using special
software designed to print a properly rendered barcode on the coupon and
limit the number of coupons printed. If the coupon dos not scan properly
it cannot be accepted Kmart will not accept coupons for more than about
75% of a product’s value. For example, a $2 off coupon for a product
that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate. If there are
exceptions, Kmart is usually provided advance notice by the
manufacturer. Coupons will be rejected if they appear distorted or
blurry, altered in any way, or are obvious duplicates. Kmart will not
accept ” FREE product” (no purchase required) print-at-home coupons. It
is currently an industry practice not to produce print-at-home
manufacturer’s coupons for free product. Buy-one-get-one-free coupons
and other values that have a purchase requirement are acceptable.
Time to start making a shopping list! Anyone have any awesome match ups ready? The Hawaiian Tropics suncare is on sale for $5.00ea, and on their website you can get a $2.00/1 coupon after doubling, it’s $1.00ea!
I haven’t actually done the double coupons for awhile because of no time but the 10 coupon limit is a real bummer to me because I have to drive quite a bit to get to a Kmart…so not worth it if I can’t do more than 10 coupons!
I can see how that will help eliminate people clearing the shelves…so good and bad.
Just a fast question so when they say
*Does not include copies of manufacturer coupons
Does that mean printed copies?? like the beloved internet coupons we get. or am just understanding this wrong and it means ‘copies’ like from a copy machine.
Thanks
I believe that it means, copies from a copy machine, like if you went to kinko’s and ran off 15 copies of an internet printed coupon from home
NOT ADVISED! You’ll get in big trouble for that one!
Just a warning that you should check your local Kmart ad BEFORE going, because there are some conflicting messages online…right now my Kmart ad online doesnt have the doubler message in it, but maybe the physical ad on sunday will…hard to know!
yeah I don’t get it when ppl try to pull that copy coupons things I saw a few and they look all blurry and nothing like originals my CVS lady said well I’ll take these even if I get in trouble because they were copied, lol I had to tell her No they werent they were printed NOT copied. I explained to her a few ways to spot the difference and She said thanks for me telling her the difference.
My online ad is showing the double coupons deal and for one I am thankful for the new limit my closest k-mart is about 15 mins away ok so not far right BUT when I have to share the car with hubby who works an hour away in the other direction and during most the time when K-mart is open, its very fusterating to go and find only 15-20% of my shopping list and we aren’t even talking about things on sale!
Happy savings everyone
WA is NOT doing doubles in our area AGAIN
Ive been to two and asked in person and a friend has called several and NONE in our area are participating. The three of us friends will be writing letters to Corporate about our disapointment in the inconsistencies with Corp announcements and the local ads. Its super sad, cause our Kmart gets NO business.
