I went this morning when my CVS opened. They never got in any sunglasses priced at $5.99. I spent a long time figuring out my transaction, using a $10/30 coupon, and I ended up walking out with only a gallon of milk. This isn’t the first time, and I feel that corporate CVS advertises falsely, listing minimum prices that do not exist in most stores.

The advertised special on the “glasses” is for reading glasses only… but includes the “sun” reading glasses. The posting was a little different than the actual advertisement is.
I was bummed too…. but they had lots of other good deals.

Thanks Kimberly,
I fixed the main post to reflect that the deal is on sun reading glasses.

No, the Sunreaders are on page 15 (psa $9.99), but the regular sunglasses are advertised on page 20 (psa $5.99).

Kate is right… it is on the back of the half sheet wrap around. I am in AZ, when I was in there today, there were no signs on the sunrack display, and I was told by the clerk that it was only the “reading glasses”… the add that I had did not have the wrap around on it, my home add does. Sorry for the confusion and extra work.
Good luck on getting a couple pairs for nearly free !!!

GRRRRRR….. You know, unless CVS wants to see me try and force a pair of teeny baby Shrek sunglasses onto my hubby’s head, they need to rethink their interpretation of “Adult”. But thank you anyway for all your work Mercedes! Yours is one of my favorite blogs, always on top of things that others miss!

Sorry ou guys have had so much frustration with the sunglasses deals. Maybe getting lucky at the scanner and getting a $3/10 or $4/20 coupon would make a sweeter deal with more expensive sunglasses.

The starting price on sunglasses at my CVS was $9.99; I didn’t see any that started at $5.99. Oh well, I have two pair already! I was able to purchase my Dial Body Wash, Crest, CVS toothbrushes, Kotex, Kelloggs’ Cereal, and Aveeno.
Thanks for the tipsw Mercedes!

Got some CVS dipes today and used my $3 off $15 CVS brand coupon (Expires today). A good deal on dipes (had to throw a $2 cvs brand filler in but it was something I needed anyways)! The scanner also printed out a $2 off $10 Oral Care coupon so I plan on going back and using this on the oral care deals this week!

I scanned my card at the little CVS machine today and got a coupon for $5 off $30 or more purchase, exp 7/31/09. Does anyone know if these $X/$XX coupons work before manufacturer coupons? Basically, can I buy $30 worth of items, use the $5 off coupon first to bring my total bill down to $25, and *then* use my manufacturer coupons? Or does the $30 silently imply after manufacturer coupons? Any advice or tip is appreciated – thanks!
On a side-note, CVS has Vitamin shampoo and conditioner listed as BOGO in the circular. These bottles of shampoo and conditioner also have Try Me Free rebate tags on them. Buy one shampoo for $6.99 + $0.58 tax, get the conditioner free, and then submit your receipt + tag for a $6.99 rebate on the shampoo, and you end up paying only tax for both! I love these deals.

Laura,
your $5 off $30 is before any other manu. coupons or CVS CRTs or other coupons or Extra Bucks. Just hand that to the cashier first. As long as your total is $30 or more before tax it should work out fine. That’s the beauty of CVSing!

My cashier told me about a money maker on the sun glasses. In the bargain bin was clip on sun glasses that were marked down to .99 cents. I bought 2 for $1.98 and received a $10 ECB making this an $8.02 money maker. Check out the bargain bin. Probably not available at all stores but may be worth checking it out.
