Save $5 off your $25 or more purchase at Walgreens on July 16th and 17th with this newly released Walgreens coupon. The coupon states the $25 is after all manufacturer coupons, Walgreens coupons and store discounts, so keep that in mind in your planning.   Here’s a scenario to help you get started:

$20 buy two Huggies Pull Ups training pants
$21.98 buy two Coppertone Nutrashield with Dual Defense $10.99 each
-$10 when you use two $5/1 printable coupons
-$4 when you use two $2/1 printable coupons
= $27.98
-$5 Walgreens coupon
=$22.98 out of pocket and get $15 in register rewards back!  That’s not too shabby I think.

Happy Savings!

EDITED to ADD: I have updated my scenario because $3/1 printable coupon expired yesterday and today it shows as no more print available for this campaign.

The Huggies coupon expires today- won’t work for the Walgreens scenario, I don’t think.

The $3/1 huggies Pull-Up coupon I have expires today 7/15 so it won’t work with the walgreen that start tomorrow. Are there new $3/1 pull up coupon?

thanks~

Thanks for the heads up — I’ve also added two scenarios — one with school supplies for teachers. http://budgetbonvivant.blogspot.com/2009/07/walgreens-coupon-525.html
Thanks for making this all easier.

What are the $15 RR generated for? $5 for $20 worth of huggies, how did you get the other $10?

A $10 RR is generated when you buy 2 Coppertone products.

Our Walgreen’s does not allow two coupons with the same barcode to be used in the same transaction. The register beeps when the second one is scanned. Has anyone else had this problem? I’m in MN.

Mel,

Are you referring to the Coppertone product coupons? I was wondering the same thing. I shop at MN/ND stores. Has anyone tried it and have it work?

If you are buying two items why couldn’t you use two coupons? there’s no reason why register would beep.

About the expired $3 Pull-ups coupon, I’ve had Walgreens accept expired coupons before. I wouldn’t bet the ranch on it but I would still try it (having another coupon as a backup). Just my experience at my local store, yours could be VERY different. :)

Mercedes,

The Coppetone coupons I have have the exact same barcode on both of them. On any other coupons printed from the internet have unique barcodes. I don’t know why it is any different than having multiples of the newspaper coupons. Maybe some coupons are coded to only accept one per transaction?

I just wanted to make a comment about the walgreens 5 off 25. I work a walgreens and you don’t have to meet the 25 limit after manufacture coupons. I didn’t and never do. This is what I did and I also used my employee discount. I bought walgreens spring water for 2.39, One pack of Huggies pull-ups, used 2.00 manufactuer coupon, Nature’s Bounty Vitamins, bogo free and used two 2.00 manufacture coupons, And last Two boxes of Huggies wipes 72 count for 4.25 and used Two .75 manufacture coupons. My total before any coupons was like 28.00, dont remember exact amount, but I only paid 13.70 for all. First I used the 5 off 25.00 then i used all my manufacture coupons.

About buying two items and using two coupons and the register beeping. You can use both coupons. If it beeps then they can manually type it in. That’s what I do

The Wags I shop at is brand new and even if you scan the $5/25 first once you get below $25 from scanning the other coupons the register automatically voids off the $5 coupon :(

no it doesn’t I’ve never had a problem and like I said earlier I only paid 13.40 for what all I got and I work in cosmectics and we bring in coupons from the sunday paper and others to help out our customer and when we run the 5 off 25 and use manufacturer coupons it dosen’t void off. Tell me what your doing when you make your purchases.

I could only use one $5 off coupon on the Coopertone, at Walgreen’s in Wisconsin, because the coupon states one product per transaction. Same with the $1 off All coupons.

okay did your total before any coupons go over 25.00. You need to go mabey a 1.00 or 2.00 over 25.00 then use the 5.00 then use all your other coupons.

I just used my coupon this morning! Here’s my transaction:

2 Huggies Diapers $20.00
1 Lady Speed Stick $2.49
1 Shower Caddy (clearance (original price $3.99)) $1.99
1 Ladies Shorts (clearance (original price $7.99)) $3.99

Total – $28.47

Used (2) $1.50 Huggies coupons and my $5/$25 coupon

Received $5RR for the Huggies and a $1RR for the Lady Speed Stick

Total after coupons and RR – $14.47 for all those items!

Not bad at all!

Thanks for the tip!

My total was well over $30 and I give the $5/25 first, then my manufacturer coupons, then wags coupons. When the last wags one was scanned it showed Void 5.00 on the screen. We couldn’t figure out what was going on so I had them void off the last coupon and item and add on some small candy at the register. My $5/25 worked then. When I got to my car I pulled out the receipt to figure out what happened. I added everything up and once the last wags coupon was deducted it made my sub-total $24.99. Like I said before I’m sure not all stores have the same registers.

I am new to this but this is what I did today:

$20 buy two Huggies size 3 diaper
$22.98 buy two Coppertone Nutrashield with Dual Defense for face $11.49 each
$9 buy three Listerine mouth wash
-$5 Walgreens coupon
-$10 when you use two $5/1 coupons
-$6 when you use two $3/1 coupons
-$6 when use three $2/1 coupons

=$27.56 out of pocket including tax and get $18 in RR back

That’s like $9.56 for all the stuff above…simply buying a jumbo pack of diaper could cost me $10 alreayd :)

Note: Listerine total care is not part of the $9/3 promotion at the WG I shopped at and I only have $2/1 coupons for total care…I don’t think it hurts to give it a try and yes, the coupon went through no problem :)

I always thought that WG is an expensive to shop but I was so wrong! Thanks for sharing the information!

That’s great glad everyone got great deals and didn’t have to spend too much out of pocket, But I thought all the register were pretty much the same. I live in Tennesee. I just think your subtotal has to be a little over 25.00 so the 5.00 dosen’t get voided. I’ve never seen that happen before.
