More Target Deals: Cheap Chef Michael’s Dog Food plus FREE Kashi Cereal

by Mercedes on September 14, 2009

chefmichaelsThere’s a new printable coupon available for Chef Michael’s Dog food: $2.50/1 any bag of dry food OR Buy two and get two free wet food.  This is how you can get these for very cheap at your local Target:

$4.27 for the 24oz bag of Chef Michael’s Dog food
-$2.50/1 manufacturer printable coupon
-$1.50/1 Target printable coupon
=Pay $0.27 per bag!

For the wet dog food:

$3.20 when you buy four cans of Chef Michael’s wet food cans
-$1.60 when you use one Buy two get two free manufacturer coupons
-$1.60 when you use two buy one get one free Target printable coupons
= For free cans after coupons

That last scenario is completely legitimate BUT it may give your cashier a headache.  So be ready to possibly only be able to use one of the Target coupons and get three cans for the price of one.  That’s 75% off and still a very good deal!

For the Kashi Gift card deal: Thanks to reader Kelly for reminding me that the Kashi cereal is on sale this week at Walgreens for $2.50 per box. Price match this price, take your $1.50/1 printable coupons and take advantage of the gift card deal going on this week at Target to get your Kashi cereal for FREE!

Okay, last week i tried price matching the General Mills cereal that was on sale at Walgreens. I got Fiber One and Cocoa Puffs, the Cocoa Puffs were the only ones that were the right size, so I didn’t do the Fiber One. But since I had check out at the register and used a Target coupon and a manufacture’s coupon for the Cocoa Puffs, the computer at customer service wouldn’t price match because the cereal’s price after the Target coupon was lower than the price that I wanted the cereal price matched to. The manager was very kind and over road the system this time but he said he couldn’t do it again. Has anyone else that this kind of trouble?? I was really hoping this price matching would work! But the manager said from what he could tell the computers would either a price match or a Target coupon, not both.

Target would not honor both the price match AND the gift card offer today. The woman at customer service said that price matching would nullify the gift card offer. I’d like to know if anyone has had the same issue??

I had the same issue as Amy. Taking the gift card into account the price of the cereal comes out lower than Walgreens, so Target wouldn’t do the price match. I called Target corporate and they agreed.

Mine wasn’t a matter of the gift card (although maybe that’s what the computer was having issues with.) They wouldn’t price match because I had used a Target and Manufacture coupon making the cereal cheeper than Walgreens.
