Walgreens: Month Long Register Rewards Deals

wag logo

Great news!!  There’s a list of the monthly register rewards available at Walgreens now available.  Most of these register rewards will run from 8/30-9/26 as that is what Walgreens consider their monthly cycle.  There are some that finish earlier and some that end later.  For the full list of register rewards go here.

There are a couple of freebies/moneymakers to be had:

Carefree Ultra Protection Pantiliners $1.99, Earn a $1.99 RR when you buy one
Use $1/1 printable coupon or from 8/30 SS insert
FREE plus $0.99 in overage after coupon and register reward

Glade Scented Oil Candle Holder or 2 oz Candle; Earn a $1 RR when you buy two
Use FREE item coupon from 8/9 SS insert or use the $3/1 printable coupon available on Red Plum
FREE plus $1 in overage after coupons

This is not a freebie, but I think it’s a good deal for this type of toothpaste:

Aquafresh Iso-active Toothpaste $3.49; Earn a $1.50 RR when you buy one
Use $1/1 printable coupon
Pay $0.99 each after coupon and register reward

If you don’t have any of these coupons and since there are month long deals, you may want to consider ordering coupons from a coupon clipping service such as the Coupon Clippers or Ebay.

I don’t see the Glade candle coupon on Red Plum. What zip code do we use?

I have a question, when I use RR to buy another item that will give me RR, how come it doesn’t always give me all of the RR I should receive? Yesterday I bought the Men’s 6 blade razor ($3.99 with 3.99RR) and the 306 Flex toothbrush ($2.99- 40 cents coupon with 2.99RR) + 1 random item. I used a 5RR from a previous week and my total was still $2.50 or something. However, only the 2.99 RR printed out, not the 3.99RR as well. The cashier, who is always helpful and points out all the deals to me and even hands me coupons, was telling me that it wouldn’t give me all the RR and said there was nothing she could do about it. So what happened? How come I can’t get all of the RR I should have? Thanks!

      Hi Val,

It seems there was a problem with the printing of the Razor RR. You should have had her try that only that on a separate transaction and see if it still not printed. Did you try that? There’s no other reason why you should have gotten only one RR and not two like it should have.

A few weeks ago there were coupons for a free Glade 2oz soy-based candle. On the same page there was a $3/2 coupon, which would still make the 2oz candles free after RR. These will be great little things to tuck into Christmas gifts or housewarming baskets.

  4. Thanks for the info on the glade candles!!

I usually buy toiletries from CVS, because I belong to their Extra Care loyalty program or Rite Aid, which seems to have some of the lowest prices in my neck of the woods.

I know some folks swear by the CVS Extra Care program, but I’ve never gotten anything free because of my rewards. I’ve only gotten lower prices, which I’m certainly not complaining about. :)

But I have to wonder if I missing out on something at CVS. Perhaps I need to check my receipt for how many rewards points I’ve accumulated? Any suggestions?

Regarding Val’s problem, I think I know the answer….the same thing happened to me. A very nice manager in Bethlehem PA explained this:
If you buy an item (like the razor) and use a RR from a previous visit, there may be a chance that the manufacturer produces both items (even though the item you got the RR for at the previous visit is not in any way the same or even similar item to what you just purchased-the razor). When the computer sees that both items are from the same manufacturer, it automatically excludes printing the new RR for the razor. How to tell if it is similar? Look at the first 5 digits of the barcode on the RR…if they match ANY item you buy (meaning the 1st 5 digits of the UPC of the product) that may qualify for an RR, a new RR won’t print. This is a bit of a hassle when you check out, especially if you have more than one RR to use; however, at least you should be able to get all the RR you are entitled to. Sometimes you may have to do separate transactions. Hope this helps!

What a great explanation Jaime! Thanks a lot, this will definitely help a lot and well worth the little bit of effort on my part to make sure the RR will print!
