I LOVE Target! I have always had nothing but friendly, helpful, wonderful customer service. I don't like the changes in the coupon policy, but understand it. People like me were printing multiple copies of the Target coupons and using them in abundance on the same purchase, though it clearly states on the coupon you can't do that. For the longest time, the wonderful service at Target allowed this to happen even though the coupon stated otherwise. A cashier even told me "it is our policy to accept the coupons even if we have to manually do the override, you can use all these at once". Wow! No other store has EVER given me those exceptions. Am I going to miss the "Old Target"? Yes. Do I understand these new changes? Of course!

Target price matching policy changes is only making it more difficult for consumers to price match at Target. They should just get rid off the price matching thing all together. I HATE Target, they have the rudest employees there. I've only been to that store 3 times and each time they have treated me like a thief for using coupons. They'll have to pay me to shop at Target.

I too have had TERRIBLE service at Target ... actually had a cashier tell me I had "too many coupons" for her to scan, and I noticed she was holdig 2-3 coupons and only scanning the top one. I knew exactly how many coupons I had, and what my final price should be, and forced her to scan each one ... she acted like I was robbing her ... then she held one up (a TARGET coupon!) and asked the woman at another checkout if it looked "right" to her ... she said (loudly) "LOOKS LIKE FRAUD TO ME, WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS ONE?" When she asked how and where I got it, I said (equally as loud) I PRINTED IT FROM THE TARGET WEBSITE. There was laughter & heads shaking from other customers. I went to her supr., and then the store mgr. Finally, when no one cared enough, I documented it all and called corp in Minneapolis. Nothing seems to have changed locally, though. Stacking unlimited coupons was the ONLY thing that took me back to that horrible place, so if they stop that, I'm bye-bye.

All these changes seem a little unfriendly to me, but I'd still choose shopping at Target over Walmart any day. I'm fortunate because my Target has a (mostly) wonderful staff that doesn't mind taking my stacks of coupons.

I am not surprised by this. Some Target stores are a pain to shop in and the employees can be very rude. I wanted to exchange TARGET brand diapers I got at a shower and I was not allowed because of no receipt. They were TARGET brand! I have also had an employee roll her eyes at me when I was using coupons, and then afterward shove my merchandise at and say "There, here's your stuff!" Although I reported this employee, I still think it is a reflection of the culture there. I have a few favorite cashiers and only go when I know they will be working, other times, it is just not worth it. That being said, there are a few very nice and personable staff that will be reasonable. I think it is outrageous that you had to produce a death certificate to be able to return a product. That is just uncalled for.

I personally never used to shop at Target. I had many issues with returns, so I decided not to shop there. Plus, I found that a lot of there things are more expensive than other stores. Since they started releasing Target coupons & doing price matches it has been cost effective for me to shop there. I shop there just about every week not. Before this I only went to Target a few times a year. That was usually when there was a really good sale, or somebody that I know had their baby/wedding registry there. They would be losing a lot of business if they start to go back.

There return policies are ridiculous!!! Even if you have a receipt, and the item is still on the shelf they will not give you a credit, in store credit nothing once it is over 90 days. I had this happen to me.

I also had this happen to a friend where the person that she bought the item for died. She had her receipt, the item was still for sale there. She had to bring in the death certificate for them to let her return the product. Talk about poor customer service!!!!

I happen to agree with Veronica. I have encountered so many unpleasant employees even just trying to use standard coupons without trying any price matching and coupon combos that it just isn't worth my time anymore. I try to avoid making any purchases there unless I know it is something I know is a perfect fit. Returns are so difficult and the shopping experience is generally unpleasant so we avoid it all together. Target is just not what it used to be. Too bad because I used to love that store.

The "new" Target sounds like the old Target that I didn't shop at for more than 3 years because of their anti-consumer practices. I shop at businesses that truly appreciate me spending my money there!! Kohl's, for example, will allow refunds with a receipt whether it's been 1 day or 2 years... I like that! That tells me that's a good place to take a risk spending my money. I've already experienced the wasted ink on these new larger coupons from Target and ones that turn out to be manufacturer's coupons. Add in their return policy and the general unpleasant, unhelpful demeanor of Target employees...... My money is better spent where I'm appreciated!!!
