ecotrin

Here’s a sweet deal that I thought deserved some special attention.  As I posted on the weekly coupon match ups for this upcoming week at Walgreens, Ecotrin will be on sale for $1.99 each after in-ad coupon.  You could use the $2/1 coupon from the 10/11 RP insert to get it free or you could use two other coupons to get an even better deal.  In that same insert (10/11 RP inserts) there were two coupons for $10/3 and $7/2 Advantage Brands products (Ecotrin is included) that can get you the following deal:

$17.45 when you buy five Ecotrin 45ct boxes (Reg price $3.49-3.79)
-$10 when you use one $10/3 coupon from 10/11 RP insert
-$7 when you use one $7/2 coupon from 10/11 RP insert
-$7.50 deducted by the in-ad coupon to bring the price of the Ecotrin down to $1.99
=$7.05 in overage!

The store won’t hand you back any cash, so you need to add items to your order to absorb this overage.  Personally I am going to add some Bounty Paper Towels.  Remember to hand the manufacturer coupons first and the in-ad coupon until the end.

Thanks Surviving the Stores!

I have tried to do this before and even had other items and the coupon would not ring in since it was more then the item.

This deal won’t work if you hand the Walgrens coupon first and then the manufacturer coupon. Based on the shelf price only it should deduct.

I looked at an ad scan through “A Full Cup” and the Walgreens ad clearly states a limit of three per coupon. We can still use the $10/3 and make $4 though.

I have three $2/1 coupons. Plus $10/3 coupon plus $7/2 coupon. (I held onto these coupons because I knew they would come in handy). The 5 coupons total $23. I plan on buying 8 Ecotrin @ $3.49 each. Total $27.92 Minus $23 in coupons comes to $.492. Then I plan on using one Walgreens in ad coupon which should take off an additional $4.50 So I will have paid a total of $0.42 for 8 boxes!

Can you use 2 $7/2 coupons, and only buy 4 to make more profit or no?

Hi Jen,

Yes, you could do that. The Walgreens coupon should deduct for all of the items in your order. The coupon itself will not impose a limit but the cashier might.

Oh, I didnt know the Walgreens coupon itself wont impose a limit. In my case above, if I buy 8 boxes it may take off $1.50 off all of them, not just 3. Guess I better buy some extra stuff or else it won’t go through.

oh and Mercedes, is there a good deal on Bounty, or just a filler for you? (we need paper towels!)

If the price of the Ecotrin is $3.49, can you buy 2 and use a $7/2 coupon or the register will beep since the coupon is more than the price of the items?

Hi Nancy,

Yes, most likely the register will beep.

Will it still beep if you have other items in your order???? Like stuff that will not be tied to another coupon.

Thanks Mercedes! That means we might not able to use the $7/2 coupon to buy 2 Ecotrin (for $3.49/each).

I have had so may issues with Wags accepting Q’s that I decided not to stack the $7/2 & $10/3 Q’s at the same time. I used the $10/3 in one store. . .worked great. I used the $7/2 Q at another store & the cashier just keyed in 3.49. I noticed this as I walked out. Went back in and the manager adjusted the $7 to $6.98. And refunded me 3.49. I assume that if the cashier knows what to do – they will just adjust the MQ down to begin with. Anyways this was a great deal! Got some great items with the overage. Thanks.

I did this deal and it worked like a charm. I did multiple transactions today with all the awesome coupons in the P&G flyer.. I used the $10/3 PLUS the walgreens in ad coupon. It was a big money maker for me today on a lot of products!!

I did this today with the $10/3 and bought the Bounty with a $1/1 and it worked great! Even better, a $3 off any Viva 6 roll printed off when I bought the Bounty! Viva is priced at $6.99 so I did the same transaction again, but bought Viva and another filler and am now fully stocked up on paper towels! Thanks for the heads up Mercedes!

How many coupons does the Walgreen one count as if you hand over one, but it discounts you multiple items?

I guess I’m wondering also if I only buy the Ecotrin to start, how many extra items would I need? Thank you!

I just did this deal twice. Bought 5 Ecotrin, 1 Complete Contact Solution in each transaction. Used $10/3, $7/2, $1 Complete coupon, Walgreens in ad coupon for Ecotrin……paid $2.13 with tax and received the $8 RR for the Complete.

I did the deal 8 different times at 8 stores, the coupons all beep, but my cashier read the coupon, saw the products and keyed it in. I bought christmas gifts with my 7.05 in overage…..

I did not get my P&G insert last month, and I see that some people have gotten theirs this month already. I get mine in the mail now. They do not come in the paper anymore by me. Should I have gotten mine already? Does anybody know what shopper paper it comes inside of in the Washington County area?

My cashier refused to even try the 1.99 in ad coupon for Ecotrin after taking off the $10/3 coupon even though I had plenty of items to absorb the overage.

go back because that is wrong. if you recite their policy of being able to use 1 walgreen coupon and 1 manufacturer coupon per item, they will agree and let you do it. must give manufacturer coupons first, then walgreens and you must have enough other stuff to cover the overage. i did it 4 times today…..first 2 times went smoothly…..2nd 2 times they had to re-ring 3 times each to get it to work, but it did.

that’s when you simply request your coupons back and leave the store. Some cashiers just don’t get it. When I get a very stubborn cashier, I’ve quit calling the manager at Walgreens, simply because that store is so anti coupon. Just cut your loss and try another store….

I bought 3 Ecotrin at WG today and used the WG $1.99 coupon, along with the $10/3 coupon. This left me with $4 overage I was able to use on other items. Since I had another $10/3 coupon, I did the same deal later on in the day. I didn’t have a problem either time. I am grateful for the free aspirin & the $4 to use on whatever I needed. I bought milk and some other coupon items. Great deal! Thanks for telling us about it!

Good Luck on finding any Ecotrin. At first store found only one so used $2 off 1. Second store ad 3 so use d$10 off 3 but only gove me $6 of because that was cost. Could not get extra $4 but still got all boxes free. Twill try another store for $7 off 2 to see what happens.

I did this today with no problems. I did 2 separate transactions. One of 3 ecotrins (with the $10/3 coupon) and the other with 2 (using the $7/2) I received over $7 in overage toward my other products!!
