Still works! My free 90-day trial from Oct 09 just ended. I logged out of my account, placed one of the above books in my cart, logged into my same account, and was able to get the free trial again. I did not have to actually buy the book. It only takes seconds to turn off auto-renew, as shown in previous comment. Thanks! I am loving Prime!

Please make sure that you cancel your Prime membership before the trial ends or you WILL be charged the regular $79 automatically when the renewal date comes up. I used to work for Amazon customer service and the majority of our phone calls were regarding a phantom $79 charge on the customer's credit card which I would inform them was from their trial membership ending. This is all in the fine print but most customers would not realize this.

You can actually cancel the automatic renewal now by going into your account (found at the top right side of the amazon site), then look under Settings --> Account Settings --> Manage Prime Membership. Click on manage prime membership and it will direct you to an area to cancel the auto renewal on the membership. You will still be able to enjoy Prime benefits until the end of the trial but will not be charged when the trial ends.

Enjoy!

I had to log out and log back in and then it offered me the free 3 month trial in my cart. I too had the previous one month free trial that ended on the 22nd. But, like I said, I had to log out and back in to get it to offer it to me.

I started, but it askes for a credit card#.
Seems like I have to input it, or is there any way to avoid it?
I have some $$ on Amazon gift cards, I checked it as away of payment, but system is not letting me through because of 3 m trial going to permanent so they can charge me later I think.
Thank you.
