I have had a chance to see some of the available Register Rewards deals available at Walgreens from now through 1/30/10. There’s a very nice moneymaker deal on Bayer Meters:

  • Buy one or more participating Bayer Breeze 2 products $14.99 all month long and get $5 RR
  • Buy 1 or more participating Bayer Contour products $14.99 all month long and get $5 RR
  • Buy participating Alka-Seltzer, Philips’, Icy Hot, Neo-Synephrine, Citracal, One a Day, Flintstones, Bayer or Aleve products and receive Register Rewards. Buy 2 get $3; buy 3 or more get $6 RR

Both Bayer meter deals are separate deals and are working also for the Buy two get $3 in register rewards. Here’s how you can make $13 with the appropriate coupons and these register rewards offers:

Deal Idea
Buy one Bayer contour Meter $14.99  (UPC working: 3 0193 715101 9)
Buy one Bayer Breeze Meter $14.99 (UPC working: 3 0193 144001 0)
Use two Bayer Breeze2 or Contour Meter $30/1 coupon from 10/25RP insert
Pay $0.00 out of pocket and get two $5 RRs from both meters plus the $3 RR from buying two of them at once!

Here are other monthly deals worth mentioning, but it’s better to wait for a sale to get a better deal:

  • Buy 2 or more participating Band-Aid or Neosporin products and get $3 RR
  • Buy 2 or more participating Pert Plus products and get $2 RR
  • Buy participating Vicks products and get Register Rewards, Buy $15 get $5, buy $20 or more and get $10 RR

Has anyone tried the Bayer deal? I’m wondering if it worked ok for anyone.

I tried the bayer Deal last week received 2 5.00 RR but not the 3.00 one manager didn’t know what i was talking about

I just did it – and it did not work.
I bought the bayer – used the coupon – made it free, but I did not get the $5RR. The store manager told me that if it is free – you will not get a RR.

i agree. i don’t see it mentioned at hcw .. i thought if you buy 2 of something in one transaction only 1 RR gets tripped… not 2…

i don’t want to waste a bayer coupon…which by the way gets 5 ecb’s this week at cvs.

:) let us now if this has worked for you!

It’s working fine for the folks on SD. Like I said both deals are separate deals which is why you are getting two $5 RRs.

sorry didn’t mean to question the separate deals triggering rrs…… I had thought if you bought 2 of a certain product in one transaction.. only 1 would print..
for ex.
I didnt’ buy 2 packs of Huggies on one transaction last week because thought only one RR would print.

guess i was wrong…

Hi Zombiemommy,
No, you are right. That’s what happens when there’s only one deal/offer available. But in this particular case the free $5 for buying the meters are two separate offers. One for each type of meter, that’s why you are getting two $5 RRs. That’s why I stressed on my post that they were separate deal. because if they were the same deal then yes, only one would print.

Hope that makes sense,

Mercedes

is this only for certain states? where was this advertised? because i checked our weekly ad and i dont see it.

Hi Laura,

Unfortunately Walgreens doesn’t advertise all monthly deals in one place. You have to go to your store and hunt for the tags. But in general monthly deals are national deals.

i’ll check my store. thank you!

Well, the problem is that not all stores are great about tagging the monthly deals so they often go unadvertised. It’s very frustrating process.

I bought one that had a bonus item attached to it and the $5 RR didn’t print out unfortunately.

Will this work if I use one coupon and then submit for the one-the-box rebate for the full price of the meter??
So, I’d pay $14.99, get $13 in RR back and submit for the $14.99 meter?

Thanks so much!

Reply

17 Mercedes December 28, 2009 at 4:42 PM

Hi Christie,

It should work since you are only using a coupon on one of them. In the past using a coupon has voided the rabet but you are paying for one of them. Just in case keep copies of all your paperwork in case the company handling the rebate submission tries to deny your rebate.

Has anyone been able to find any of these coupons from a clipping service? Everyone seems to be out and I’m NOT paying ebay prices!

Reply

19 zombiemommy December 28, 2009 at 9:45 PM

bayer meter coupons are super hot because they are usually such moneymakers..this year i must of gotten 10 because they generate mostly 5 bucks at a time. (you can donate what you don’t need to shelter or a nurse).

rarely do you see them at the clipping services…

i have a theory… next year bayer is gong to come out say.

“the best selling meter on the market”..

instead of the truth “the most paid to be bought meter on the market”

You’ll have better luck trading for them.

Worked perfect for me here in Colo Springs. I just wish I had more coupons….

I had no trouble with the $5 RR in AZ for the Bayer Breeze2 while using the coupon for this deal. The second $5 RR did NOT print out when I purchased the Bayer Contour using the second coupon. The Contour had the free A1CNow Selfcheck attached. But the manager got me the second $5 RR. No extra $3 RR…but I didn’t push it. :) Of note, the rebate in my Breeze2 box expired a year ago.

I had ten of these coupons and I had a great time at Walgreens tonight. I went to three different Walgreens and only got jipped out of one $3 reward…which is good in my book for Walgreens. I got close to $70 in RR. I am donating the meters and using my rewards toward baby stuff for my new little one!! Thank you thank you thank you!!

I did it in Dallas and only got one RR for $5.00 and a second coupon for $5.00 off a 25 ct. test strip. That is all I got. I feel really jipped. Oh well, you live and learn.

Reply

26 Robin December 29, 2009 at 6:26 AM

Did you have the cashier ring the two meters together? That is how I got jipped the at one of my Walgreens. The manager insisted on ringing them up seperately due to the way they get reimbursed on the coupons. I still got $5 for each one on seperate transactions, but because they were rung up seperately I did not recieve the extra $3. It really upsets me the lack of knowledge some of these “managers” have. He tried to tell me that the extra $3 was a local store only promotion and wouldn’t work in his store.
??????SMH?????? I was so frustrated and spent enough time in there, I just left. Still debating on call corporate on this fella??? I didn’t come out of pocket on anything so he may get by on this one.

I looked for the meters tonight and found the the right UPC for the Contour, but it was $62. Could that be right? I asked the person working by the pharmacy if the meters were on sale for $14.99. He said he really doubts they would be that cheap. No signs are posted. Is the Chicago area out of the loop for this?

28 Robin December 29, 2009 at 6:27 AM

Same thing in my store. You should have them scan it. They ring up $14.99. I am in Indy.

ALWAYS make them price check it if the signs are not up! Of 3 stores in Tampa this morning only ONE had the sale signs up and NONE had the RR signs up. So I tell them I heard from a friend that they are on sale, have them price check it and act as surprised as they are when the RRs print! LOL!
The good news is they all seem to have plenty of the items in stock.

I went to two different wag stores in AZ and the first one I had no problems with. The seconde one, the pharmasist cashier was really rude. Told me that I could only purchase one meter at a time. When I asked why, she just said she was only going to do the one. I asked to speak to a manager and he was very upset about it when she explained to him why she was only going to let me purchase one. So he called his boss and he told him there was nothing wrong with what I was trying to do and made him let me buy them. I got both $5 RR’s, the $3 RR for purchasing both and the $5 coupon for buying strips at both locations. I have plenty of more coupons to continue. :) Me and my kids laughed as we walked out of the store with bags of stuff for free. THANK YOU FOR SUCH A GREAT DEAL!!!

So I only have 3 more of the meter coupons, so in order to still get one of the $3 RR for buying two Bayer products. Is that any Bayer products? Like I could buy a low dost aspirin for $2.89 and still get the $3 RR??? Anyone had to do this? or does anyone know the “participating” products?? Thanks…

Can I ask where you found this advertised? I did the deal today and the RR’s didn’t print. I’m a diabetic and will actually use the meter, so I kept them, but I’d rather have it as a MM!

Thank you so much for posting this! I think I am the only one in my small town that knew about this because I wasn’t able to make it there until today(Saturday) and they had them both in stock(which never happens)! I paid 0 and received $13 in RR to which the cashier said” Wow You did great!” lol I then went and picked up some really cheap baby wipes and training pants for my little one. Thanks again!

Is this deal still running the same ? $13 RR’s because I just did the deal and only got (1) $5 RR ???? She did a void and rung them up separatly so I would get (2) $5 RR’s but no $3 RR ???
