Hi! I am Mercedes and this is my blog Common Sense with Money! Helping other people live better, spend less, and save more is something I am very passionate about. I combine simple frugal living tips and smart shopping techniques to help moms across the U.S. become better home economists. Thank you for visiting my blog.

I have a problem with deals what use the Walgreen’s Children’s Activity Book – the coupons clearly state “off of full purchase price” so whenever you try to use them with a sale item, it reverts the item to full price and the cashier won’t change it back. Has anyone else dealt with this?
Cassie,
I have never seen that happen and I have used the coupons in the Children’s activity book multiple times on items that are on sale. I also have never seen anyone mention this happen to either. I would be curious to hear from other readers that this has happened too.
Mercedes
When I use the Children’s activity book coupons my Walgreens automatically adjusts the price of the coupon- no overage, but usually still get the item for free (or close to it with other coupons.) If the item is on sale in the ad, I would imagine that you could take it to a manager and have them adjust the price since that is the advertised price.
I’ve still never been able to find the Childrens Activity book.
Maybe try checking by the pharmacy. That is where I found them at the Wags by me. They were never by the coloring books. Strange, but true. Hope that helps.
Hi Mercedes,
I my RR expires on 12/25, I still can use it on 12/25, right?
I am never sure about this so I always use it at least 1 day before the expiration date. Thanks!
Hi Nancy,
Yes, you can use it until the end of the day on 12/25.
Mercedes
Thanks Mercedes!
Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Thanks for all the info, good tips and quick responses to all my questions! I came across your web site more than a month ago and really like it. I check your site every day.
I went to WAGS tonight and I’m not sure if it was just my Walgreenes or not, I used my WAGS coloring book coupon and bought 4 toothbrushes- 1 Zooth, 2 Oral B, 1 Crest. The WAGS coupon took $4 off which I didn’t think it would do because it says Zooth or Oral B stages and I had a Crest in there. I was excited about that, but I had problems with my RR printing, I asked the cashier why it didn’t print but he had no idea, so the manager came over and he helped me out and got it to print. For some reason the Zooth toothbrushes rang up for less than 2.50 so the total didn’t go to 4/$10 although that’s what the ad says. So he rerang it up to make it work for me and gave me my $5 RR!
That happened to me too. I got one spiderman toothbrush that was on last chance so my total wasn’t 10.00 do I didn’t get the RR.
I don’t see the B1G1 free Chinet in my ad. Did I miss it? Could it just be regional? TIA!
EmmaK, thanks for letting me know about the crest toothbrushes working too! I have wanted to try them, but never have cause I did not feel like chancing it LOL. Now I will go buy some of those too!
Also if you want another pretty good deal, there is the village naturals collection (they have lotions, shower gel, bath oils and bath salts) in stress therapy or sleep therapy formulas on RR deal through the 26th. They are currently $3.99 and then there is a manufacturers Coupon at the cosmetics counter (you’ll have to ask for it) and then they give you a $2 RR so it only costs $.99! I bought several for stocking gifts.
I believe these are located near the lotions or body washes etc…. they are green or purple so look for that when trying to locate them.
Is there a place I can buy the coloring activity book? I bought a couple on Ebay but have used all my Huggie Diaper deals. I dont want to spend another $5 for more coupons.
Our Walgreens does not carry em and when my Mum goes out of town she keeps an eye out but she hasnt seen any either.
I’m having a little bit of trouble viewing your site in Opera, but it may just be my computer. Apart from that, I love your site. I plan on browsing around and reading some more posts!
