Hi! I am Mercedes and this is my blog Common Sense with Money! Helping other people live better, spend less, and save more is something I am very passionate about. I combine simple frugal living tips and smart shopping techniques to help moms across the U.S. become better home economists. Thank you for visiting my blog.

I am so excited about the bayer meter. I already cased the wags to see which one had some yesterday:)
If you buy 2 of the Therma wraps (8hr) they will $0.98/2 not free! I’m going for the Advil anyways, just wanted to point it out so someone wouldn’t think they could get them for free! I plan my shopping trips down to the penny so i’ll know if i need fillers or not and figure others do too! Thanks for match ups!
I don’t know if I missed it on your post but there is also an Accucheck Aviva deal with the right coupons.
It’s on sale $14.99 use $10 off manf. Q and the $5 off ivc coupon from the Diabetes and You booklet found in the pharmacy area and you get a $5 RR.
And you can send it in for a full rebate too. Right? That makes it a great money maker. But I don’t need one. anyone know if I can donate it to my church or somewhere if I open it for the Rebate inside?
Hi Mercedes,
When we buy BOGO items, can we use 2 manufacturing on two items or only one? At Walgreens, I think the second item rings up as $0 so I am not sure if we can use MQ for the second item.
Ni Nancy,
I have used two manufacturer coupons in the past (one coupon per item) but that would depend on your cashier. some may tell you you can not because one item is free already. The coupon on the second item will not beep as long as the value of the product purchased is higher than the value being deducted by the coupons. for example
$3.99 lysol
0.00 lysol (on sale BOGO free, second rings at $0)
-$1/1 coupon used
-$1/1 coupon used
=pay $1.99 for both, coupons won’t beep
BUT
$1.99 bayer aspirin
0.00 lysol (on sale BOGO free, second rings at $0)
-$1/1 coupon used
-$1/1 coupon used
=second coupon will beep because value deducted by coupons is $2 and value of items is $1.99
Hope that helps
Mercedes
Thanks Mercedes! That really helps. It makes sense too.
I just sent an email to Walgreens and asked for a printable version of their policy that will accepted by all WG in my area. I also explained to them that they are very inconsistent store to store and associate to associate. I encouraged them to check out other reward systems such as CVS and assured them that the minute one comes to my location ( I just moved and no longer have one), I will be one of the first in line to switch my business unless they straighten up their act. Nothing is more frustrating then having ‘made up’ policies and couponers who do not respect fellow shoppers and their need for good deals, too. Walgreens makes it too easy for some to abuse the system whereas CVS helps to limit that. Thanks for your site:)
Well, I guess the joint juice q is already gone. I could have used it. Darn!
Did anyone actually receive a Register Reward on the Bayer Contour Meter? When one did not print on my purchase, I asked and was told there was not a RR on that item.
I had the same experience with the Accu-chek aviva and I was told that if you pay $0.00 for an item that should give you register rewards – you will not receive any register rewards.
The manager told me the register rewards program has changed recently. I emailed Catalina and I’m awaiting their response.
I did it yesterday, used both coupons, the manufacturer and the wags one and got the RR without any problems….
Looks like there are no more prints on the joint juice campaign. :*(
I just now, 1/31, printed the scalpicin q, and it expires tomorrow, 2/1. If you want to do this one, you may want to hurry.
I went shopping yesterday at my local wags to pick up a few things and was told that Walgreens is temporarily not excepting printable coupons because of coupon fraud problems. I was told they are investigating these problems and then will return to excepting printable coupons again. Has anyone else heard this at their walgreens?
I was told something similar at 2 of my local Walgreens also. Basically that if the printable doesn’t scan, they are no longer allowed to accept it. I asked if they could manually enter the #’s on the coupon barcode and was told they aren’t allowed to do that either. Basically, if it doesn’t scan, we are out of luck…
There is a monthly RR deal on LYPSyl products. Online these sell for $2.99 and you get $2 RR. There is then a $1 coupon and $2 MIR you can combine, making it a $2 money maker

Just returned from Walgreens. They did not have the shredded wheat for $1.00 as stated they were $4.75 each not a good deal.
Post-
Post Shredded Wheat cereal $1
Use $2/1 Post Raisin Bran, Shredded Wheat or Grape Nuts Cereal printable
Free after coupon (buy two so coupon doesn’t beep)
Jacob,
my ad says this:
• Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, 7 oz. • Post Shredded Wheat,Honey-Comb or Alpha-Bits, 4.25 to 9.25 oz. $1
Mercedes
They are the small boxes, don’t know the exact weight, but you’ll know when u see them. They are half the size of a regular box. If you ask they may be in the back and they can get them for you. Hope this helps!
The Parade coupon for Keebler Club crackers is Save $1.00 on CHILI wyb 1 9 oz pkg of Keebler Club Crackers.
my pampers cruisers rang up 10.99 yesterday.. did I miss something?
OKay I see the issue the ad says Pampers baby dry or easy ups.
I am going to return them and get my $2….
Last week when I did the benefiber deal, I used coupons and I did not get the register reward even though it was over $20 before coupons! I don’t know if wags has changed their policy or maybe each store can change rules. I have always used coupons and gotten rewards but not last week!
I did the benefiber deal last week and I got the 10 rr w/o a problem. In the past, the few times that that I didn’t recieve the rr, I pointed it out to the manager and they 1) either printed it (somehow… mysteriously in “the back”) or 2) I got a gift card for the same amount as the rr if the ad had already changed (esp after a sat nite run). I had to bring in the ad and point it out though… Did you use any other rrs in your purchase that would have stopped it from printing? I always check the manufact on the rr. Hope this helps!
I did everything
right. I’ve done it millions of times. I was so frustrated
that I just left, so I lost 10RR.
I had to ask where the sale cereal was too. It’s away from the regular cereals, kind of in a travel-size area in the food.
But, thanks to this site and cycling Register Rewards, at Walgreens I got:
Two Vitamin Water chapsticks- Free
Two small boxes of cereal- Free
Three Glucosamine juice drinks- Free (cycling RR and B1G1 coupon)
Went halvsies on the pepsi deal with my roomie to get:
2.5 12 packs Pepsi and 2 2-liters for $5 total ($1.50 each 12 pack and 62.5 cents each 2-liter).
I hope they have some other sale mid-week so I can have an excuse to use my remaining $10 RR on the Red Baron 2/$5 deal -$1 coupon.
SO EXCITED!
