UPDATE:  This RR is no longer rolling!

Here’s a deal report from the trenches (it’s a battlefield out there you guys , hehe).  According to the Krazy Coupon Lady, her sister and one of her readers, the Huggies diaper register rewards is rolling.  In other words you can use the $3 RR you get after buying one pack to buy another pack and lower your out of pocket expense.  In general RRs do NOT roll this way at Walgreens but it seems this one is doing it for the time being.  If this is indeed rolling this is what you could do:

Huggies diapers $8.99
Buy one Valentine pencil $0.20 after in-ad coupon (filler so you can use RR to pay)
Use $2 off any Huggies diaper pack printable (IE ) (FF Link)
Use $1/1 Huggies diapers Walgreens store coupon from Children’s Activity book
Use $3/1 Huggies RR from previous transaction
Pay $3.19 plus tax out of pocket and earn another $3 RR

If you try this make sure to come back and share your experience.  If it works, let’s keep this post updated to see when it stops working.

Nice! This is a pretty good price per pack.

I bought my diapers yesterday and didn’t even attempt to roll! I knew it would be brutal so wanted to make sure I got them before my usual Wednesday shopping trip.

I did great this week! Total before Qs and RRs-$120…total after $12! I have about $40 in RR for next week though, so I hope it will be a good one ;)

Thanks for all your hard work!

I rolled mine yesterday here in Michigan. I was reluctant to do so but the cashier told me that they were rolling so I thought it must be right! I love my Walgreens cashiers!

I sent my husband with coupons but he got them mixed up and accidentally used the rr to pay for a 2nd transaction and it rolled. When he came home and I looked at the receipt and his remaining reg rewards, I kept saying “it rolled? it rolled?” and he didn’t understand why I was so excited! Back to the stores today to try again!

If you go to recyclebank.com, and open an account you get 100 points for signing up. With that 100 points you can print a $5.00 off coupon for Huggies. There are also several other coupons that you can choose from too. You can get an additional 50 points to your account by joining the ebay recycle team. There are several ways that you can continue to get points. Check it out.

RecycleBank sign up rewards have lowered…only 40 points! I just signed up this weekend and thats all I was awarded. I was also able to join the “Green Team” and get an additional 50 points, but still only a total of 90…not enough for the Huggies coupon I was after.

Sorry about that. I’m sure a good sale will come again. Hopefully by then you will have the extra 10 points that you need for that coupon.

What I’ve been doing instead is I started with a $5 huggies RR from the other week. I used that plus $1.50 dove Q to buy the body wash and got $6 RR back. Then used the $6 RR and $2 huggie Q for the diapers and got $3 RR back. Then I just repeat. The body wash is $1.49 oop with the $3 RR and 1.50 Q and then the diapers are 99 cents using the $6 RR and $2 Q (i don’t have the activity book Q). So you get body wash and diapers for $2.50 plus tax oop…..can’t complain!

Hey Kara did you use fillers to buy those diapers with the RR and the manufacturer coupons?

Reply

Yes, I bought fillers.

Are you guys using the same coupon from the activity book? My cashier took mine from another deal last week and said she had to have it.

Reply

19 Patti February 8, 2010 at 4:57 PM

She’s mistaken. The cashier does NOT need to collect Walgreens store coupons. Who does she think is going to pay them back? Themselves??? I asked for my Neosporin coupon back, and the cashier asked the manager, who said they did not need it and she could return it to me.

Some stores will give the coupon back, and some won’t.

Buy the Huggies @ $8.99
-$2.00 Printable
-$1.00 Activity book (if you have it)
Pay $5.99 & get a $3.00 RR. You do not need a filler item for this trans because you are buying 1 item, and using 1 coupon (activity book coupon/wags coupons do not count).

Next
Buy the Huggies @ $8.99
-$2.00 Printable
-$1.00 Activity book (if you have it)
-$3.00 RR from previous trans.
Pay $2.99, get a $3.00 RR.
Here you would need a filler because you are using that extra RR. So you have 1 item, and 2 coupons (RR counts as a coupon).

This is where a lot of people are using the .20 cent pencil in ad coupon. Again, this is a wags coupon, so it does not count in your total of coupons that you are using.

Yup, I found that out early Sunday when I went to buy some pull ups! I wasn’t really concerned about getting another RR when I used the previous RR because I had only planned on purchasing those 2 packages. But to my surprise I still got another one! So of course I went back and got 2 more packages!

25 zombiemommy February 8, 2010 at 3:49 PM

Well here is my plan…I have no RR’s to start.
I have 2 of the dove 1.50 IP’s from last week.
I have 8 of those $1.00 Poligrip coupons 1/03RP
I have 2 of the Dove Men Care 1.25 from the 1/31 RP

Not sure if I will need FILLERS to cover the coupons and the RR’s.
If so will bring up the .20cent valentine pencils to the register if its starts beeping after I hand over my transactions.

Buy 1 Super Poligrip $2 minus the 1.00 coupon = 1 OOP but a 2RR
Do it this transaction a second time then….

Now I have 4RR
Buy one Dove wash (5.99) use (2) 2RR and 1.50 Q=.50 OOP
Now I have a 6RR

Buy one Huggies 8.99 – 2.00 Q- 6.00RR=1.00 OOP
Now I have a 3RR

Buy one Dove Wash 5.99 -3.00 RR -1.50Q= 1.50 OOP
Now I have a 6RR

Buy one Huggies 8.99- 2.00 Q- 6.00RR=1.00 OOP
Now I have a 3RR

So far $6 out of pocket plus tax plus any fillers.

I have some Dove Washes RP1/25.
So I might roll this 2 more times. .25 higher oop but worth it for 2.75 diapers.

Either way I am using some RR’s to buy Scott Toilet Tissue when I run out of coupons or product or patience of the cashiers…………..:)

Reply

26 zombiemommy February 8, 2010 at 10:50 PM

Okay I did it. 11 transactions…. Spent 20.42 oop But got 3 packs of Huggies, 1 Pack of toilet tissue $6.99, 7 aluminum foils, 1 Bleach, 1 Memo Pad, 6 Super Poligrip, 1 Hair Brush and 2 Doves Men Care…

I think there might have been a better way.. But oh well. Click on my name to see the 11 transactions…

27 Tyree February 8, 2010 at 3:56 PM

My walgreens in IF want to get rid of the diapers and are happy to do multiple transactions :) I did aluminum foil for a filler only 40 cents more than the pencil yet so much more useful.

Could you explain what you mean about rolling coupons.. or whatever you all are talking about. I need diapers. Can I use coupons and RR to pay? Not sure I’m following everyone, but I want to get the best bang for my buck. Thanks.

Reply

29 Bev February 8, 2010 at 5:24 PM

Rolling means that you can get the next pkg of diapers with the same $3 you got on the first pack of diapers. And the $3 you got from the second pack of diapers on the third, and so on. Walgreens RR usually doesn’t work this way, but for some reason it’s working on this deal!

It just worked for me here in Lakeland, FL! Great diapers, great deal. I didn’t have the activity book so I paid a little more OOP but still a great deal. I also used the aluminum foil as a filler. It was worth the extra 40 cents for an item I will get more use out of.

Someone with the RR from this diaper deal, please answer this ?, which (company/Retailer) does the RR have listed?? Who does it say the RR is ‘compliments of’??

I have a $5 RR that says “RETAILER” Mead Johnson” and it also says, “Compliments of Mead Johnson & Kimberly-Clark” I’m wondering IF I can use that RR to pay for the Huggies…or if that would void/cancel the $3 RR, I should earn on the Huggies this week, any thoughts?

Thank you!

It worked as of 6:30pm in WI! The cashier gave me a hard time, though, and actually made me wait while she went and talked to the manager, since it normally doesn’t roll. I said I know it doesn’t normally, but it is now for whatever reason. She said if I kept rolling them they would end up owing me money, (which of course is untrue–it doesn’t work that way), so I explained that I would still end up with an RR at the end of my transactions to spend on something else, and that I wasn’t getting the diapers for free anyway. Whatever. I knew the manager would let it go through–what are they going to throw away the new RR saying I don’t deserve it? NO!
Anyway, I did 6 transactions! :-) I posted it here:

Could someone tell me about the filler needed here? It seems you’re using 3 things ($2 printed Q, $1 activity book, & $3 RR), but you only have 2 items. Which one doesn’t require an item? If I don’t have the activity book, do I still need a filler?

Reply

43 Priscilla February 8, 2010 at 8:40 PM

a RR counts the same as a coupon

Reply

44 pennyscents February 8, 2010 at 8:57 PM

Sorry guys I accidentally posted this response on the wrong message a minute ago. This is where this response actually belongs. OOPS!!!

Reply

45 Mercedes February 8, 2010 at 8:58 PM

Hi Jennifer,

You need a second item (the pencil) because you need to have as many items as you have manufacturer coupons and register rewards. This is what it’s called coupon/item ratio and it only counts for manufacturer coupons. Walgreens store coupons don’t count, which is why in this case you have two items, and three coupons (the manu coupon, the RR and the walgreens coupon). Hope that helps,

Mercedes

Reply

46 Jennifer February 8, 2010 at 9:17 PM

Thanks to you both!
I’ve been doing WAGS off & on for awhile, but never knew that the store coupons didn’t affect your coupon/item ratio.

Reply

47 EmmaK February 8, 2010 at 9:00 PM

You can’t have more coupons than items, so if you are using the $2 manufacturer, $1 Wags coloring book, and the RR then you need to have the diapers and 2 filler items. If you don’t have the Wags coloring coupon, then you can use 2 items and 2 coupons/ RR.

48 Stephanie Kirk February 8, 2010 at 8:40 PM

I have tried to understand this whole Walgreen (RR) talk too for a long time. Can someone fill me in?

Reply

49 Mercedes February 8, 2010 at 8:56 PM

Hi Stephanie,

OK, this is how it works and i will use the diaper example. This week when you buy one jumbo pack of huggies diapers for $8.99 you get a $3 register reward back. This register reward prints at checkout after you pay for the diapers. In general you would NOT be able to use this $3 RR you just got from buying diapers to buy more diapers. Because if you do the next RR wouldn’t print. But in this case it is working this way.
In the transaction I provided as example I use the pencil as a “filler item” because Walgreens sees RRs as manufacturer coupons and there needs to be as many items as you have RRs and manufacturer coupons. since you are using the huggies $2/1 printable coupon AND the RR you need to items in the transaction and the pencil counts as the second item.

I hope that makes sense, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask more questions,

Mercedes

I was able to roll them in the Friendswood, TX store on 518 @ Parkwood Ave. This is the ONLY store in the area that will print up any RR’s if you use coupons toward your purchase. Any others in the area claim that you can’t pay less than the advertised price in order to get the RR’s. I have had to call the Catalina company and have them mailed to me.

I went back to my Walgreens last night to use some $1 coupons I found for the Huggies deal, and the cashier said if I used the Huggies RR and another one printed out (because they are still rolling), she would throw it away right in front of me! How rude! I’m starting to get fed up with this particular Walgreens, which is frustrating because it’s the closest to my house.

I went to another Walgreens down the road and that lady let me roll them. She told me it might not work, but it did, so she let me do 4 transactions back to back. So I guess it depends on your cashier!

You can turn some of them into cash by doind the olay rebate. A good one to consider doing for rolling is the vicks rr deal.
Buy 4 Dayquil or Nyquil products $5 each
Buy two boxes of Puffs product
4 musketeers bars $1.96 ( a bit more if next week)
Use four $2/1 Nicks product coupons
Use two free Puffs product coupon
use four huggies rr
Pay $1.96 plus tax out of pocket and earn a $10 register reward plus $1.50 from musketeers
