TRUS is offering a promotion this week when you pre-order both TS1& TS2 you get $15 off a Disney DVD at the time of the pre-order—-so if you haven’t purchased The Princess & the Frog yet it’s a good time to do it. The pre-order requires a $5 deposit for each movie that can be applied to the total when the movies are picked up. Just be careful if you do this to make sure the $15 comes off. I had to get it done manually because it wasn’t automatic. It required a manager, but it was no problem. Math worked out to be $26.99 for PATF – $10 coupon – $15 promo discount = $1.99. The total was actually $11.99 because of the $10 pre-order but that will come off next week when I pickup the TS DVDs. Great Deal!

Where did you hear about $15 off a Disney DVD at the time of the pre-order. Was it in the ad because I can’t find anything.

How about using that $10 off $20 purchase coupon @ K-mart with these two movies – that would make for a great deal!!

Mary – do you know if that TRU promotion is for DVD’s only (i.e. you can’t get $15 off a Bluray?)

I bought the Blu Ray combo pack & they took off the $15.

I just found this on the Disney store website “* Movie Ticket Offer in Each Combo Pack – Up to $8.50 at participating theaters. Offer valid 3/26/10 – 6/30/10, while supplies last. Void where prohibited. Good in U.S.A. only. “, looks like it won’t work for me no movie tickets are 8.50, except a childs ticket and my child is still free

Blazinfire69—
You should be able to use the coupon for up to 8.50 and pay the extra amount.

Also, right now if you buy 4 boxes of kelloggs cereal at Target they give you a $5.00 give card. I used mine for my Princess and the Frog Blu Ray Combo.

@Mary- Thanks for the heads up with the TrUs deal… I’m going tonight to give it a try!

At the TrUs in Gurnee there was a large poster board with the TS1&2 promo on it. I purchased the BluRay/DVD Combo of Princess & the Frog, & ended up getting it for free after coupon & the Disney discount!
Thanks again Mary for the heads up!

Mercedes, the TS1&2 promo card I received today when I reserved the 2 movies states the following:
“Pre-Order ANY Toy Story or Toy Story 2 Combo Pack(s) and Save up to $15 on the purchase of any Disney movie today. Reserve BOTH and save $15 on any Disney movie $19.99 or higher. Reserve ONE and save $5 on any Disney movie $14.99 or higher. $5 deposit required for each reserved copy. Expected in-store date 3/23/10. Balance due at time of pickup. Deposit must be made by 3/22/10. Items must be reserved in the same transaction. All reserved copies must be picked up within two weeks of the in-store arrival date.”
The way this reads you should be able to get this deal through 3/22/10.

I am talking to TRU right now and he told me that the $ amount off an additional Disney movie is done when you pick up and pay for (minus the $10 deposit if you get both) the TS 1&2 DVDs, so you wouldn’t be able to get P&TF today. Also, he said it is only $5 off, not $15.

Mary, where is your TRU? Maybe this differs by region?

The card says save $15 “today” on another Disney DVD when you pre-order both TS1 & TS2 so I think perhaps that the employee was misinformed regarding the promotion. It is $5 off if you only pre-order one of the TS DVDs. Earlier in the week the $15 did not automatically come off the total. However, I have since heard that the registers have been fixed to auto deduct the $15 when you pre-order both.

did the TRU thing yeterday – bought P&TF for $26.99 minus $10 Blu-Ray printed coupno = $16.99. Then, by putting down $5 each on the TS when they come out, I paid $10 and got $15 off any Disney DVD. So, P&TF then went down to 1.99, so I paid two $5 deposits = $10 and then $1.00 for P&TF. I thought it worked out well! I have my printed TS coupons for 1 & 2 to bring to TRU when I go Tues to pick up my DVDs. Thought it worked out really well! :)

DMR is coming out with an upgrade coupon for $10 off toy story 1 and toy story 2 bluray combo pack. You just have to sign into your account in a couple days and put in the upcs from the previously released toy stories.

Went to our Toys R Us in NY and had no problem getting the deals. They are having a sale on the Disney DVDs/Blurays, that is why some of us are getting an additional discount. On the Princess and the Frog purchase, we ended up spending $7.88. Our receipt shows Princess and the Frog $34.99-$15 off – $5 disney Promo – $8 off selected item – $10 coupon = $ 3.01 overage. We also got an additional $5 off the Toystory 2 preorder listed as a Disney Promo. On our second purchase ( 2 households) we got the same $5 off Toystory 2 and we got Jungle Book on DVD for free because of a $4.99 Disney Promo.
If you aren’t buying Princess and the Frog, you can get a dvd for free with this $5 discount.
Totals : Preorder & Princess and the Frog: $7.88
Preorder & the Jungle Book: $10.49

I went to buy these today, and Target says they aren’t out until the 23rd. Wish I had known that before I promised my 4 year old. :(

The Toys R Us Website currently shows the combo packs at $22, not $17. Where did you see the lower price?

Has anyone figured out if we can price match the Toys R Us ad at Target? It is not a time sensitive deal (just a regular sale)? If so, with the Toys R Us ad, the $10 Target discount and the two mf qs you could get both for $3.98.

Target will price match Toys R Us, but I would recommend printing out the price matching policy at the link below just in case there is an issue. Manufacturer’s coupons are applied after a price match. You would get each for $21.99, then automatic $10 off for buying 2, and then $10 off each with the Disney coupon.
