this paper deal is EXCELLENT. my elementary school students are required to bring in xerox paper reams as part of school supplies (which, we won’t even get in to! lol)… so, I see I will be off to staples… which just HAPPENS to be next to Target & Publix… :D

  2. Cathy says:

Why not just take your empty ink cartridges to Costco for refills for $9.99?

  3. I could be wrong but I think you may need to spend $49. after any coupons to get the Staples rewards.

It does NOT have to be $49 after the coupons, but you DO have to recycle your empty cartridges on the same transaction that you purchase the ink in order to get the $6 back for each empty. I have made the mistake before and turned in my recycled cartridges during the correct dates, but because I did not buy ink on the same transaction, I only got $3 back for each one.

Sure this is a few months late, ha, but I did this deal and specifically asked the cashier if the $49 is before or after I use any coupons, and she said it is BEFORE. Well she was wrong. I also recycled 9 cartridges on the same day and only got back $3 for each instead of the 6 because my prior rewards that I used took my balance due to under $49 and I only got back 10% instead of 20. Needless to say I called the staples 800 number and they were useless. Told me they were sorry that I did not understand their policy and neither did the cashier but there was nothing she was going to do. So I am heading to my local staples again to complain in person, this usually works better.

I’d be careful with any Staples rebate. We’ve purchased rebate items (such as this) last season and the prior back to school season with never getting the rebate check. I call various times and was always told that they have the record of the rebate and it’s being processed. After waiting the time frame they requested and still not receiving a rebate check I was then told that the rebate has closed due to the closing date. Any Staples rebate is NOT worth the hassle, drive or time. Keep your eyes peeled for those companies (like Office Max–2wks ago) that give you a store giftcard to use. It’s much better.

I did the same deal at Staple the last week of April. I submitted an easy rebate on-line the same day . My total OOP was $13.76 for two reams of paper. I just received my rebate check for $10.98 on Saturday 6/5. It took exactly 6 weeks to get the check. I don’t like waiting this long for rebate, unless of course it’s a major purchase. A gift card is better for me.

I do the Staples paper deal with the mail-in rebate. But to save money on ink I take my empty cartridge to Walgreens and refill it for $9.99- 12.99 the first time, then on the end of the box they put it in there’s a 50% off coupon. So every time after the first ink refill I pay only $7.00 each and that’s with tax included. Also found a lady that sells cases of used office paper for $5.00 a case & I flip it over and print my coupons on the other side.Saves alot of $$$

Can I use my staples paper card money from a past deal? The Rewards money or whatever.
