Iron Shopper Week 10

Welcome to week TEN of the Iron Shopper Challenge! Every Monday I will set up this post where you can share and brag about the deals you got at the stores you shop. On Sunday morning I will close this thread and name the winner of the Iron Shopper Challenge for the week. The winner will be selected based on the number of votes their entry gets. So make sure to make your entry appealing to get people to vote for it. Share your deal with friends and family to get more votes too. Competing is OK but having fun is what’s important. I want this to be a forum where you can share and brag about the deals you have gotten.

Who will be the winner this time around? Remember that it’s free and fun to play and you get to share your deals plus you also get a chance to win a $20 prize. For a list of the rules and how-to’s check here.

Important Note: You need to make sure your image is not too large to upload. The file needs to be 1,000 bits. Use a free software like paint.net to make the size of the file it’s not too big.

Have fun!

So..besides food and household goods you can also find SUPERB deals on other things right?? Well, it just so happens that my husband is getting ready to leave to go to Canada for a fishing trip. Only problem is that he has a pole but no tackle/bait. So, my deal finding self was wondering around K-Mart the other day checking out their 50% off clearance toy selection (nothin left :-[ ), but I continued to browse the rest of the clearance and what did I come across---A TON OF CLEARANCED BAIT/TACKLE!! They already had been reduced but much to my suprise, I scanned them and they were an additional 50-75% off!!! I ended up walking out of K-Mart with $90.00 worth of bait/tackle for the husbands fishing trip and only paid [drumroll please] UNDER $15.00!!! This may not be the best deal out of everyone, but I must say this deal came at the best time possible and I am proud of my deal finding self :-]

    Good Morning Everyone!

So I didn’t make a profit but I made the best out of what I had, all while toting an 18 month old who likes to throw my stuff out of the cart and who likes to knock down huge displays of toilet paper so he can say hi to people who walk by as I fix the display. Gotta love him for being so social, right! LOL

Shopping + 18 Mo Old + Huge Displays of TP = FUN TIMES FOR ME!

First Time Bragger, Long Time Penny Pincher here! :)

We went to Target to take advantage of a few deals and beside it was a PetSmart- so I stopped in and I am SO GLAD I DID!

Beggin’ Strips (normally $3.99) were on sale with a PetPerks card for $1.25 because they expire next month. That took 9 bags of Beggin’ Strips from $35.91 full price, to $11.25

Then, I had (2) $4/4 Manufacturer’s Coupons, good for use on several items, Beggin’ Strips included and (1) $1/1 Manufacturer Coupon good for Beggin’ Strips.

    $11.25 dropped to $2.25

Then, I had a PetSmart coupon I received in a bag of cat food, good for $2/1 Petlinks Toy. I found one on clearance for $1.97 (normally a $6 toy).

Then, I had a coupon for $1.50 off 2 bags of Pounce cat treats- which were on sale for $1.11 each, after Petperks (normally $1.35 each).

    9 bags of Beggin’ Strips= $2.25
FREE Cat toy (plus $0.03 overage)
    2 bags of Pounce Cat Treats= $0.72

    Grand Total: $3.17 with tax!

  9. Victoria says:

While I didn’t get my total down to pennies like some, I did get some great food and am very excited about this trip!
    Target:
3 Merona Hobo Purses $2.50 each
2 Bags of Snyder’s pretzel sandwiches $3.19 each
    1 Bag of plain snyder’s pretzels $2.59
2 boxes of ritz crackerfuls $2 each
1 bottle of Ocean Spray BlueBerry Juice $1.98
4 packages of Juicy Juice drink boxes $2.29 each
    1 La Croix carton $2.50
16 Chef boyardee microwave containers .80 each
    3 Bagel Bites packages $2.24
3 Simply Pink Lemonade Jugs $2.19
18 boxes of olay travel size bar soaps .97 each
4 packages of Bic Mechanical pencils $1.39
8 packages of Bic Pens .99
    1 Kashi frozen entree $2.85
2 Kashi TLC bars $2.50 each
    Subtotal: $24.09 + $1.05 tax = $25.14

    I SAVED OVER $80.76!! YAY!
Plus this puts me over the $30 mark to get the $10 rebate for buying the bar soap!
*I will be giving the chef boyardee to the food pantry and the pens to school supplies drives.

  10. Daniel Morris says:

Here is my Target Deal that only cost for

    .80 total

8 – Packs of Juicy Juice 8 packs
    $2.29 each = $18.32 – $4.00 manufacture coupons – $8.00 target coupons = $6.32

    8 – Cans of Ravioli
    $.87 each = $1.74 – $1.74 manufacture coupons – $7.74 target coupons = $-7.74
only 2 rang up even thought she scanned all 8.
also the 1.50 off of 4 cans rang up at .87 each
then the target coupons rang up as
    6 – 1.00 and 2 – .87 thus the total 7.74 off.

    10 – Sobe Life Water
    $1.00 each = 10.00 – $5 manufacture coupons – $5 target coupons = $0

    2 – Boxes Bagel bites
    $2.24 each = $4.48 – $2.00 manufacture coupons – $2.00 target coupons = $0.48

    6 – Wonka Bars
    $2.29 each = $13.74 – $6.00 manufacture coupons – $6.00 target coupons = $1.74

    $53.50 total value before coupons

I am not sure what went wrong with the ravioli but only two rung up and all the coupons still came of thus my total was $0.80 rather than $4.50 if the ravioli coupons would have rung up for the correct amount but somehow they rang up lower but it came out better. Weird I know but still one heck of a deal.

So once again .80 cents for all of this great food that my kids and wife love.

Please vote for me. I have never won anything and this would be cool.

It was my daughters Idea to do this as she saw it when Helping me print out the coupons

Please vote for me and my daughter

    Thanks

      thanks

      c

      • Dani says:

        Christy,

        10 sobes = $10
        - $5 if you have buy one get one free coupons (5 of them)
        - $5 if you have 10 of the 50 cents off Target coupons. These have to be handed to cashier AFTER the buy one get one free coupons. (If you hand them the other way around your total will be $2.50)

        Hope this helps!

I know this is probably a silly question, BUT to all those Target shoppers….can you use multiple same item Target Q’s in the same transaction or do you have to do multiple transactions? Thanks

    • Kim in AZ says:

I’m sure it will depend a bit on your store (as Target seems to be that way) but my store has no problem with accepting one target coupon for each item you are purchasing. For example, I bought two razors, two bagel bites and two wonka bars. I used six total Target coupons plus six total manufacturer coupons with no problem, no register beeps either. I was very happy with my Target transaction last night – I love it when there are no beeps! :)

My cashier looked at me shocked and stuttered—-”I don’t know what to do with that!”
She called over another cashier and she politely told me that they were not allowed to give me cash back so I threw the gum in as an after thought. This made my OOP .77 cents and I had a $4.00 off my next shopping trip print at the register!!!!
My receipt reads total savings 101 percent!!!! I LOVE IT!!!
