Iron Shopper Week 9

Welcome to week NINE of the Iron Shopper Challenge! Every Monday I will set up this post where you can share and brag about the deals you got at the stores you shop. On Sunday morning I will close this thread and name the winner of the Iron Shopper Challenge for the week. The winner will be selected based on the number of votes their entry gets. So make sure to make your entry appealing to get people to vote for it. Share your deal with friends and family to get more votes too. Competing is OK but having fun is what’s important. I want this to be a forum where you can share and brag about the deals you have gotten.

Who will be the winner this time around? Remember that it’s free and fun to play and you get to share your deals plus you also get a chance to win a $20 prize. For a list of the rules and how-to’s check here.

Important Note: You need to make sure your image is not too large to upload. The file needs to be 1,000 bits. Use a free software like paint.net to make the size of the file it’s not too big.

Have fun!

  2. Ashli says:

Spent only a PENNY at Kroger!!

Here’s how I did it. The items with stars are mega even items….buy 10 and save $5:

    *2 Dan-o-ninos $4.98 – two $1.50 coupons = $1.98
    *2 Dan-o-ninos $4.98 – two 75-cent coupons doubled = $1.98
    4 Oral B toothbrushes $4 – two $2/2 coupons = free
    2 Crest toothpaste $2 – two 75-cent coupons doubled = free
    1 Crest toothpaste $1 – 50-cent coupon doubled = free
    *2 Gatorade $0.98
    *4 Spaghetti-o’s $3.96 – two 50 cents/2 coupons = $1.96
Less $5 from the mega event.

I think the cashier gave me overage from two 75-cent coupons or something. I can’t make the math come out exactly right. I will try to post a follow-up comment with a photo of my receipt.

I received a $2 OYNO coupon from buying 4 of the Dannon yogurts, which I used on a second transaction to get the milk for free.

This is definitely a record for me. :)

  3. Michal DAvid says:

This is my trip…paid $5 and few cents for all of this….

  4. I actually earned $12 from buying the items pictured above. Here’s the breakdown:

    Bio True Contact Solution $2.99
    Earned $2.99 ECB
    Used $2/1 coupon
    Final Cost: $2 Money Maker

    Complete Contact Solution $7.99
    Earned $7.99 ECB
    Final Cost: Free

    Celsius Green Tea $7.99
    Earned $7.99 ECB
    Used $2/1 coupon
    Final Cost: $2 Money Maker
    John Frieda 2/$10
    Earned $5 ECB
Used $3/1 Root Awakening John Frieda
    Used $2/1 John Frieda
    Final Cost: Free

    Pretzel M&M’s 2/$1
    Earned $1 ECB
Final Cost: 2 Free (one didn’t quite make it home if ya know what I mean)

    CVS Pantiliners 2/$1
    Earned $1 ECB
    Final Cost: Free

CVS Hand Sanitizer Spray Pen $1.99
Used email coupon to get it free
    Final Cost: Free

    Used $5/$30 CVS email coupon
    Used $3 CVS birthday coupon

So after everything was rung up and the cashier scanned my coupons, my out of pocket cost was $13.97 + tax. I used some previous ECBs that I had earned as well as a money card refund from last week when the cashier accidentally overcharged me. I ended up only paying $5.94 out of pocket and getting back $25.97 in ECBs.

I made a run to Target and was blessed after pairing my Target coupons with manufacturer coupons, as well as some Recycle Bank coupons that I also had. I am not brand specific, but in this case I was able to get a lot of name brand items for next to nothing!

Also, please note that the total out of pocket reflected below is pretty much for the few items that I did not have coupons for: paper toweling, vitamins and Q-tips. Everything else I got for free or almost for free.

    • Melina says:

WoW! Nice shopping! I really hate Target for the rude attitude of the cashiers and managers… But I love their prices!

      • Sue P says:

In fairness to the cashiers, (I am one at a grocery store), I have people split their orders 6 times on double coupon day! The offer is for ONE deal per customer. To me that is stealing from the manufacturer. 11 boxes of cheerios, 10 bags of Werthers, 29 cans of shaving cream, now that one’s riduculous…I like a good deal too, but let’s not get so selfish that they discontinue the deals.

  16. Friday, July 23, 2010
I found Venus Breeze and Venus Embrace Summer in a Bag kits on clearance from $9.99 down to $4.98. These kits include one razor, a bottle of Olay Quench lotion and SatinCare shave cream or Olay Ribbons body wash. And all packaged in a cute bag. Not only did my Target allow me to use Venus coupons with them, on two of the bags they allowed me to use 2 other coupons in addition. Add those to some other great P&G and Target stackers and I have enough for my $30 purchase. I plan to keep one bag for myself, keep one to give as a gift, use one as door prize for my MOMS group at church and donate the last one. Sharing my victories is a joy!

    Here is the run down:
4 spa kits (included 3 products in each bag)- $4.98 ea.
2 bottles of Pantene- $3.49 ea.
1 Cover Girl nail polish- $3.69 ea.
    Total before coupons: $30.59

    Coupons used:
4 Venus razor MQ (newspaper insert)-$2 ea.
1 Olay Quench MQ (newspaper insert)- $1
1 Olay wash MQ (newspaper insert)-$1
Pantene B1G1 MQ (newspaper insert)- $3.49
Pantene MQ (not sure maybe from free sample)- $1.50
Cover Girl MQ (mailed booklet)- $1
    Pantene TQ (newspaper insert)- $1
Cover Girl TQ (newspaper insert)- $1
    Submit for P&G $10 Rebate
    Total for 15 individual items= $2.60, 17 cents a piece!

PS: During this same trip I also got Finish dishwashing tabs for $1 (sale $3.50-$2.50 MQ) and Green Works laundry detergent (90 oz) for $1.99 (sale $6.99-$2.00 MQ-$3.00 TQ). Altogether a satisfying Target shopping experience! :) http://www.4our2cents.com/2010/07/target-clearance-p-rebate-excited.html

  17. having trouble with pic, sorry

  18. Maureen says:

Okay, I was planning to post my CVS trip from earlier this week where my OOP was .01 before tax but then I stopped by Kroger last night to pick up some things to make dinner using up some of the tomatoes we seem to have coming out our ears right now–that happens in July in Kentucky. Kroger here double Qs up to .50

    (2) deil frenchbread packs .79 each managers special
    Tostitos 2.75
Schick razor 3.49 managers special (-4.00Q)
Seattles Best coffee 3.49 managers (-1.25Q)
    (5) Philly cream cheese 1.49 each
    (2) Wishbone dressing 1.99 each (-.50Q, -.75Q)
    Italian Sausage 3.49
    (2) Keebler Wheatibles 1.99 (-1.50Q, -1.50Q)
Red Stripe beer 7.49 (I know it’s a lot but keeping it real)
    Zucchini .65
    3lbs onions 2.59
    (2) Fresh selection salad bags 1.00 each (-1.00Q, -.50Q)
    Mega Event (-5.00)
    Kraft buy 5 get a $5 catalina

My OOP was $27.31 but the catalina didn’t print so the cashier gave me $5 back. So $22.31 for enough for (4) dinners, plus some good coffee and beer. Our Kroger is currently undergoing some renovations, new finishes inside etc. and I’ve decided that we’re getting a lot of extra managers specials–things that may have gotten some dust on them during the night end up as specials the next day.
