No songs for my kids during brushing. All they want is to get it done quick.
we have a pink and a blue toothpaste, so my daughter gets to choose which color of the day she will use. it’s a big decision on some night “um pink..No blue!” and sometimes we twist them together. whatever works!!
(this prize pack would be perfect for my 2 year old who hasn’t grasped the concept of spitting… we currently use the orajel training toothpaste)
I have yet to discover how to make this task fun – except that we now challenge our son to keep the “bubbles” in his mouth until we count to 18 (or whatever number happens to be popular at the time). At that point he can spit. Would love something that encourages our daughter to love to brush her teeth!
We, too, have just started an oral care routine with our 11 month old, William. He loves Yo Gabba Gabba, so at this point, we’re sticking with the ‘brush, brush, brush’ song.
My baby just got her first 2 teeth so she’s not brushing yet. Guess I’ll figure out something fun when the time comes. lol

My kids LOVE brushing their teeth- no special tricks needed- yet. They are only ages 1, 2, and 3…. think that they just love that they get to be big kids… brushing their teeth when Momma does- or somedays I let them brush them while they are in the bath. Right now they have character toothbrushes and toothpaste so they enjoy those. With three kiddos ages 3 and under we could certainly use all the free toothbrushes and / or toothpaste we can get

Oh, my little Madison Jade is 4 months old and is teething! We can barely see it. It looks like a little white speck, but we know it’s there because we can feel it. Not to mention, we can hear her wailing because of the pain. ) ; Bittersweet.
My 15 month old son LOVES to brush his teeth. He runs into the bathroom and reaches for the brush while saying “teeth, teeth” over and over again. He would probably brush 5 times a day if I’d let him.

My kids (8 and 5) have never given me a hard time about brushing. We’ve always done it so its just routine. Now that their little brother (8mns) knows what is going on and has 2 teeth of his own- he loves the nubby little finger brush and also bites… i mean brushes every night before bed!
My daughter has a Veggie Tales toothbrush that plays songs while she brushes!
I let my son pick out his toothbrush when he needs a new one and toothpaste. This makes it fun for him.
My daughter loves the Sprout channel, and every night when we are able to watch, she gets to see Star and Nina get ready for bed. She sings and dances to Star’s brushing song, so we have incorporated that into our nightly routine and has definitely made things so much less stressful on the both of us.

For our 3 boys it just takes a visit to the dentist. He tells them to brush and they do it. They really get a kick out of competing with each other and using floss.

To make my son enjoy brushing his teeth, I do it with him (he’s 14 months). I let him walk around all morning with his toothbrush while I get ready for work. It gets the job done!

I try and find cheap fun kids toothbrushes and I use them as rewards. My kids tend to be a little more excited over their toothbrush if they get it as a special reward.
We sing our own little song and wiggle around while brushing, my kids also like to make it a family thing so we all have our toothbrush and brush at the same time.
Actually my daughter LOVES to brush her teeth..I am lucky. BUT…getting her to do it good is another thing. We have to scrub hard enough to make bubbles to spit.

With both of our girls we make funny noises for different brushing, i.e. Grrrrr for front teeth, ahhhhhhh for tongue, etc. Both of my girls love to brush.

We have them each get their “own” choice in toothpaste characters.
We always brush our teeth as a family. Our daughter sees mom & dad brushing so then she wants to do it just like us. It’s almost like follow the leader because she’ll copy everything you do and even how long you brush.
My almost 4 year old son likes to sit on the sink and do it all himself!
I try and let my son pick out his toothbrush at the store. He seems to be more willing to brush his teeth this way especially if he gets to pick out a fun toothbrush.
We like to brush during bathtime and also in the morning. My daughter has a veggietales toothbrush that plays for 2 minutes. Unfortunately we don’t usually make it that long.
My twin 10 month old boys love getting their teeth brushed at night. I currently use Gerber’s apple and banana flavored toothpaste, I’m guessing they like the flavor. When they see me coming with it, they just open their mouths!

My twins boys are 2 so we make alot of noise. We have contest’s on who can say “AAAHHH” the loudest & longest. SO then Dad & I can get those teeth, then its their turn to scrub a dud the teethies in the “tub”. Silly but effective

So far, I don’t have any fun routines. . .we just make sure we get it done. we even do mouthwash first now then brushing. I hope to make sure my newborn has good teeth habits now too.
I have 2 toothbrushes, one for me to clean his teeth first and one for him to clean after, this is the only way I make sure his teeth are clean because my kid loves to swallow the toothpaste without brushing.

With two Kids under 6 and and one still in diapers, teeth brushing used to be a chore too my little ones. However now we enjoy it, and they look forward to it. My youngest loves to sit in the hallway and just watch her older sis and brother brush away. So I’m now it’s time for her to learn the importance of it as well. Well what I do is I put some music on ( for about 5 mins max)and we all dance while we brush and when the music stops..so do we! We have a blast and sometimes to much fun. But that’s what Lysol wipes are for, lol.

She is only 2 1/2 months so I have not had the pleasure of making teeth brushing fun yet.
Both my kids love brushing their teeth. I let them do it first all by them self then mommy does it for them too!
i let him brush and he loves it. we use a diego toothbrush.
while my kids are all grown up, i have 2 grandsons.
garrett is 3 and stays the weekends with me, brody is 8 months old and lives with me.
i am a dental assistant, so garrett thinks it is really cool that i can get toothbrushes at work for him! he loves to brush, but is not crazy about flossing. we hollar “brush-teeth-time” and he just does it . no special tricks needed.
brody isn’t too sure about all this teeth brushing yet. he has 3 teeth and 1 on the way. we have family brush teeth time so he gets to watch and laugh at us. then he gets his brushed. we make up silly songs while we brush. he doesn’t really mind getting his teeth brushed, his tongue just gets in the way.
i really love this awareness to baby/kids dental needs you have created!! it is so heart-breaking to see a child with severe dental problems when it could all be prevented!!
mom’s be aware of your baby/child long term sipping on juices!! in our office, that has got to be the number 1 problem we find. while great for their little bodies, prolong exposure of sipping can be devastating to their little teeth!
My 18 month old doesn’t quite brush on her own yet, so I still hold the toothbrush and brush her teeth. I do varying speeds and that seems to make her smile and laugh. And we say we’re brushing “tops and bottoms” for the top teeth and bottom teeth.

For whatever reason, my son enjoys brushing his teeth so we really do not do anything fun. Maybe it is because we started a routine of brushing his teeth when he was a baby.

My son is 10 months old so we don’t really do anything to make it fun. As long as his gums aren’t bothering him that day he doesn’t seem to mind.
I don’t know about fun for the older kids but my three year old thinks it is fun that he gets to do what they are doing.

I always tell them everything that they ate that day as I brush (or they brush) their teeth… i.e., “There goes a turkey sandwich! And let’s brush out the teriyaki chicken, too!” etc. They always get a kick out of it and remind me if I forget anything.

We tell the kids that (whoever the favorite character of the month is – Spongebob, DJ Lance, etc.) is hiding in their teeth and we have to get them out. Works every time! Plus the kids cannot stop laughing, so we can brush those back teeth well.
Sometimes dad sings the old woman who swallowed a fly to him. I mostly just try and get it done so we can go to bed!
I bought my son a battery operated spongebob toothbrush. He actually begs me to brush his teeth now!! It definitely makes brushing teeth more fun and easier. My toddler loves the taste of the toothpaste!!

My kids love to brush their teeth. Papa is a dentist so I always tell them that we want to clean our teeth so Papa would be proud. The baby, almost two, is more interested in eating the toothpaste – so this would be great for him.

I made up a song about scrubbing off sugar bugs. Sometimes it entertains my daughters enough to keep them still!;)
I get singing toothbrushes from the Dollar Store. It seems to make the whole thing less painful for all involved
I use the “You brush mine, I brush yours” trick. She only lets me brush her teeth if she can brush mine. But lately, she brushes very well by herself since I stocked up on Spongebob mouthwash.. lol!

I start naming all the food that is “stuck” on my son’s teeth while we’re brushing (what he ate during the day) and he’s excited to get it off.
We sing the song, “Brush your teeth, round and round, circles small, gums and all…”. The kids like to take a turn after I do the first round of brushing.
For us, teeth-brushing is exciting and fun! Whenever 2yoDD walks by the bathroom she wants to brush! And our 7moDS just likes the sensation of the rubber brush on his 6 (!) teeth. However it seems as though it’s the 7yoDS has the most trouble, only because there’s so much playing and more exciting things to be doing than brushing!
Brushing is very important to me because my mother and grandmother have lost their teeth ==each of my kids had a special brush and we brushed our teeth together.

I let my son play with his toothbrush when he was around a year while I brushed my teeth. He thought it was big stuff. He is 2 and still LOVES getting his teeth brushed.
With my 2 year old daughter, we roar like dinosaurs. She opens her mouth wide so brushing is much easier. Plus, she thinks that roaring is funny.
I got my son a toothbrush from Target that blinks. He’s suppose to brush his teeth for as long as it blinks. Then I get to do the ‘Mommy swipe’ where I get a chance to really brush his teeth.

I wish I could say we do something “fun” like sing or dance, but my 3- and 4-year-old grandkids *love* to brush their teeth and want to do so every time we go near the bathroom sink. They beg to brush, so we get out their individual special toothbrushes and personal toothpaste (they each have their own flavor or level of development), and we all brush, making sure to cover all angles. We end up with shining teeth and great smiles! A new grandbaby due in November will likely follow their example eventually.

My 28-month-old LOVES to brush his teeth. I don’t have to do anything special, because brushing his teeth is a treat for him! He isn’t as crazy about it when it’s my turn to “help” him, but he really enjoys it. I think it’s the training toothpaste he likes, though!

I make it fun by singing different songs with the kids while they brush.
no special tricks here…whenever i brush my teeth I make it a point to have my son watch me do it, and of course he wants to try it too then!
We sing the ABC’s while they brush. I throw in a little twist when I get to certain letters like their name or something. They have a good time and it gets it done! I would love to win!

We brush our teeth all at the same time and let my daughter pick out her own tooth brush and tooth paste and then bought her a barbie dentist doll after visiting the dentist, so now she LOVES to brush her teeth and even flosses! She has a winnie the pooh tooth brush holder/timer that sings and compliments the kids while they brush. My infant son is only 3 months old but we laugh at him and tickle his nose and upper lip to get him to smile and open his mouth so we can wipe his gums down with a washcloth, he laughs the whole time so I guess it’s fun for him

We got an old Mickey/Minnie toothbrush holder at a garage sale that sings a song: “Brush Brush Brush your teeth morning, noon and night. Up and down and all around to keep your smile bright” and Mickey laughs. My 2 yo really likes that. Plus my hubby got her excited about “getting her molars”. So now she is excited to run and tell Daddy that she got her molars
I struggle with brushing my 2 year olds teeth….We just bought a spiderman brush that lights up which does help, but still a battle!
We use a sand timer and try to see who can brush the longest and is most attentive to the time.
My son is just getting his first two teeth so we haven’t started brushing yet. He likes when I sing to him so I think we will try singing and brushing!
I think this is so cool. I have a home daycare with children under age 3 and they watch the older children brush their teeth. Now, they will be able to brush their own teeth along with the rest.

We sing the alphabet song while we brush teeth. I will start singing it and then leave a letter out and she tells me what letter it was I missed! And it is the perfect length of song for brushing teeth.

We’re just getting our first tooth around here!
Tooth brushing doesn’t seem to be a problem at our house. I let them brush their teeth first and then I say “Let me check” cheerfully.

Well, now that my son is a big 3 y.o., we have established a pretty good routine that is part of waking up & getting ready for bed. To make it fun for him, I let him pick out his own toothbrush at the store, give him a stepstool in the bathroom so he can see himself in the mirror and also small bathroom cup that he likes to rinse with.

We pretend that there is a tiny kitty named “spitzy” that lives in my daughters mouth…it is my job to pet him and make him purr! Works like a charm!!

my little guy likes doing everything his big brothers do, so not troubles with brushing there. but i do ask each of the boys to show me how beautiful their teeth are after they brush. If i notice that they didnt brush well while they were doing it, i wait until they show me and then I look concerned and tell them I see green and brown stuff on their teeth and tell them they better brush it off or their teeth will fall out! maybe that is mean, but my guys respond really well to it! they think it is funny (boys!) but they are super diligent when they brush again!

I bought the Colgate spinbrushes in Barbie and Spongebob for my two little girls and they are absolutely in love with them. They try to take their toothbrushes everywhere!
I don’t think they find it fun but they like to swish with the blue stuff first so they know where to brush.
I know it sounds indulgent ,but I let them pick their own favorite toothpaste,It makes them so happy,over and over!

I ask my son to make different funny sounds like EEEEE or AAAhhhh so I can get to all parts of his teeth. Works for us.

I found a toothbrush that lights up. My daughter loves to brush her teeth now and I know she is brushing long enough to get her teeth clean!

I would love this, I have a 20 month old so telling him to spit the toothpaste is out of the question. I tell him it is time to brush his teeth and he gets excited. I tell him we need to tickle his teeth, he starts laughing and loves when we “tickle” his teeth.
My kids love to brush their teeth and they all use a different toothpaste. After they are done they all get to pick a floss stick with out looking so the color is a surprise. My three year old loves it the most she gets so excited.

I dont really know how to make it fun, I just have a routine that they brush twice a day. I also tell them how they want to have nice teethm and that is very painful and dangerous to have bad teeth.

My son went to the dentist with me and got to see them “count my teeth”. He got to pick toys out of the toy box and got a new toothbrush. Now he wants to brush everyday so when he goes to the dentist he can have more fun picking out toys.
