Here is what the Walgreens coupon policy says:
The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value). http://www.walgreens.com/topic/help/generalhelp/coupon_policy_main.jsp?_requestid=37856
Posted right on their website. You may want to print it with you and show it to him next time There is a LOT of miscommunication between corporate and stores. it could be that he just is not aware. If he still refuses you may want to call customer service and explain the what is going on. Then they will contact the district manager and eventually trickle down to the store manager.

The coupon for the capri sun is in the August IVC, don’t these expire at the end of the month that the coupons are in?
