cant see coupon
coupon wasn’t there
I’m seriously thinking of giving up couponing. It seems if I take any time at all to live and be with my kids and husband I miss out on deals. 10min after things are posted coupons are printed to death until nothing is left. I mean unless I’m willing to sit at my computer all day long and only think about coupons. I can’t save any real money to make a difference. I’ve gotten a few things here and there, but nothing significant enough to help us out. It’s really disappointing.
I agree. I’ve been at it for 3 hrs this morning, so I can save $4. Whoo hoo. All these sites are the same. They get “credit” for linking you, when you can go directly to the manufac. site and print (what coupons you can find!) I have not found a “miracle coupon site”. I keep getting linked back to the 2 major ones: shop at home.com and coupons.com. I just CUT OUT the middle man. Go to the manuf sites, sign up and request samples and coupons. Tell them you like/love their “specific” product(s) and most will mail you coupons. Some take 12 wks! BUT, I’d rather save $2 directly from say General Mills, then just 25c from a link!
Also, my family is not switching our fav brands to save for that One item, then have to switch back because I cant get another coupon… as the sites remember your IP address, limiting how many coupons you can print!!
Add up how much you are worth an hour…. min. wage in Tx is $7.50.
Can I save $7.50 in coupons per hour…. uh, NO. I’ve tried….spending 5 hrs a day seeking “great deals”….. & NO I have NOT saved $37.50 in coupons! So far MAYBE $10… (and that includes $3 off makeup coupons)
NOT all grocery stores offer double and triple coupons. EVEN THEN, the ones in my area that do are on specific days or specific time frames, like Tues/Thu from 7am-10am. I am not wasting $30 in ga$ to drive all over town to save at specific stores/days/times.
I found ONLY 1 where I truly save money with coupons. I save the most money at Family Dollar. They allow 2 coupons per item (if coupon allows), one has to be family dollar, the other has to be manufacter’s. So if I can save more…. example: Mayo F.D. save 50c & Manuf. save 50c = save $1

Good Luck in your search!
You’re absolutely right! Plus seems these coupons save you like 1 dollar on a product that cost triple what the store brand would have cost in the first place. For instance I found a coupon that took off 50 cents for wipes and a target coupon I could stack and by the end of all my effort. My husband says well I pay a third of that by buying parent’s choice big pack of wipe refills and so yeah, we save money by doing that, way more than by using coupons for pampers wipes or huggies wipes. So you’re going to save me 3 dollar off something that cost 3 times as much as the store brand. How am I saving money? Basically the only people who are saving money are the ones selling coupons so suckers like us or people who are franticly waiting to print out coupons the second they post. I can’t do that though, I have a 5 month old baby who requires attention and I can’t be typing and printing with one hand or neglecting my child and marriage for this. I’m done. I’m glad it works for other people. But as for me I’m going to continue doing the math and buying store brand items in bulk. All in all the price comes out way cheaper per item than the name brand with coupons. Thanks for nothing coupon world.
Hi Molly,
I understand your frustration and you are right. you need to do this in a way that is time efficient for you. First, just recognize that you will miss out on some deals. That is OK. Save money with deals that last week long or more so for example:
1) Shop at your drugstore but health and beauty items. Deals at Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid last all week long. So get your coupons ready and shop there. If the shelves are cleaned, then ask for a raincheck.
2) Missing out on hot printable coupons? then take consolation in the fact that you were spending time with YOUR family, that is PRICELESS. Then head to the coupon database http://www.commonsensewithmoney.com/coupon-database and look for other coupons there. and get a subscription to your Sunday newspaper so you can get coupons delivered to you
3) Deals at your grocery store and Target and Walmart are also always there. So keep up with the deals available for those stores. http://commonsensewithmoney.com/grocery-store-deals
4) Missed a hot freebie or sample? So what? I share with you so many other ways you can get full size products at stores near you. Getting worked up over one sample or free trial size item is not the way to do this. And there are many other ways you can still save money for your family.
Keep your chin up and don’t give up!
Mercedes
You do not need to keep up with it all. keep
I hear you. I’ve found what works for me is to only coupon 1 to 3 times per week and I have completely cut out printing coupons from my computer. I have been going to a local gas station Sunday. Nights as they are willing to give me any leftover copies of the paper that they have. This week I found out a friend of my mothers has been saving the coupons from her 4 Sunday papers for me too!!!! Once I got my priorities back in check after trying so hard to get great deals for my family everything just kinda fell into place. I remind myself when I miss a deal that I will get it next time. I also prepare ahead of time for my 2 drugstore shopping trips so that on Sunday s betweenchurch and baseball games and family gatherings and everything we all have to juggle on a daily basis, I can just quickly run in and grab my items, pay with coupons, roll my rewards and feel couponing success. A few weeks ago I completely took the week off from even thinking about coupons. I found I was ready to get back to it and discovered slow and steady works for me. Good luck! You can do it!
there is no coupon I tried 6 times It didn’t work
