5 Inexpensive Date Ideas

romantic-walk-beachBeing a stay at home mom, my husband and I certainly find it hard to get some time to ourselves, let alone go on a date. You know, because the kids are running around and the budget we’re on definitely has an impact on the way we live our lives. However, you just have to make time, so you can enjoy some time with that special someone in your life. Also, you don’t have to spend a ton of money on a date. As a matter of fact, some of the cheapest dates I’ve been on and have been some of the most memorable and magical. Below, I’m going to list out some summer date ideas that won’t cost an arm and a leg.

#1. Go to the Beach

Remember all those times you would go to the beach with the person you love? Now, you have kids and going to the beach can be hectic to say the least. Call up the babysitter (or grandma) and go on a romantic date with your significant other. Simply walking on the beach can be so relaxing and romantic. Take a towel with you and snuggle up on the beach as the day grows later. Just sit back, relax and don’t worry about chasing down kids.

#2. Go on a Picnic

Chances are that you and your significant other have a certain spot that’s special to the both of you. Now is the time to go and revisit that location with them. Pack a picnic basket, some candles and maybe even a little bit of wine to take along with you. Oh and don’t forget to bring a blanket with you to sit on.

#3. Go See a Movie

I absolutely love going out to the movies. A lot of people don’t go, though, because they think that it’s far too expensive. After all, you’re only going to be there for a couple hours. Going to see a movie actually isn’t that expensive at all. It’s when you go to the concession stand and get all sorts of goodies is when things really start to get expensive. Therefore, you should never go to the movies on an empty stomach. Avoid the concession stand and you’ll be able to go on an inexpensive date.

#4. Go to an Amusement Park

It can be hectic going to the amusement park with the family. You have kids that are practically going wild and they want to go on all the rides and they want all of the toys around them. Going to the amusement park with you and your significant other is a fairly inexpensive date and it can be romantic, as well. Take your significant other on the Ferris wheel and you’ll see what I mean.

#5. Go for a Hike

The weather is starting to warm up, so it’s a great time to go on a hike. I’m sure you have access to plenty of hiking trails in your area, so you should definitely take advantage of them. Also, going for hikes is a great way to get in a little bit of exercise.
