Almost Free Children’s Tylenol at Walgreens This Week

The Walgreens ad for this week has the following offer for this week:

Buy three Children’s Tylenol or Motrin 4oz for $4.99 each and get a $5 Register Reward back.
If you buy Tylenol your transaction would look like this:
$14.97 three Children’s Tylenol
-4.5 $1.5/1 Easysaver Coupon applied to the order
-3 one $3 off three manufacturer coupon from 9/14 inserts or use 3 of the 1/1 IP here
= $7.47 out of pocket

And you get $5 Register Reward and here’s the kicker: you also get a $2 Register Reward. This weekly register reward offer is double dipping with another register reward offer. I will try calling the Catalina Company to find out what triggers the $2 RR tomorrow.

Warning though: I did this deal using a $5 off three manufacturer coupon that was in my grocery store’s sales flyer. The $5 RR did NOT print. I think the way the manufacturer coupon is coded is similar to the one for the Register Reward so the register thinks you are “rolling” this offer. So if you want to get you $5 and $2 register rewards do not use the $5 off three manufacturer coupon.

Happy Savings!

I was just going to email you to tell you that I found a legit way to do the deal, and I see you already found it. 😛

This is a great way to stock up before cold and flu season really hits!

    Hi Tara,
I bought a 3 tylenol and motrin for children but also need to get medicine for infants. The Infant is not on sale but the IVC coupon works for it and I saw that the $5RR prints for it too. SO I am going to give it a try. Unfortunately I don’t have the $3/3 manufacturer coupons but I think there’s a printable one and I also have some homemailers motrin and tylenol that I will use for this. We had a bunch of summer colds I can’t imagine what the winter may hold for us. The baby will be teething too so I am sure I will use up everything before the medicine expires.

Any way it works for infants too, or just childrens? And I was JUST at Walgreens today!

  • Mercedes

Kate, someone on HCW said it works on the infants. I was planning on trying myself on Wed.

My WG paper says “Limit one coupon printed per offer.” Does that mean I can only use one printable?

  • Mercedes

    Hi Quattro Stelle,
No, that means that if you buy six bottles instead of three you won’t get TWO $5 register rewards back but only one. That’s why you need to split your transactions.

Oh duh! That makes perfect sense. I’m so paranoid about using my perfectly legitimate printed coupons these days… Thanks for the info.

My WAGS had infants priced at 9.99 and children’s at 6.99. Is the 4.99 an ad price?

  • Mercedes

Hi Anon, yes the 4.99 is the sale price for the 4oz bottle of Childrens tylenol and motrin. The infant type is not on sale.
