The Best of Walgreens Deals 11/2-11/8

I have received requests from readers to start doing Walgreens weekly deals here on my blog. So this is a new feature starting this week. I usually don’t do CVS although I keep up with what’s going on in the store. If anyone is interested in me adding the Best of CVS deals or any other store please leave me a comment.

Don’t forget to leave a comment if you would like the best of other store’s deals on Common Sense with Money.

Edited to add: You may have noticed that I didn’t include a deal on Walgreens diapers on my deals. That is because the coupon on the RX Booklet is only good on regular priced items. Since the diapers are on sale buy one get one the coupon can not be used. Please don’t mention the use of this coupon on sale diapers on this blog. Thank you for understanding.

Happy Savings!

Does Walgreens really let you use 2 manufacturer coupons on the same item? Thanks for putting them together.

  • Mercedes

    Hi Jennifer,
Are you talking about the Schick offer? If you are buying two items theoretically you should be OK using a BOGO coupon and a cents off coupon. The bogo coupon gets you one item free and the cents off coupons discounts the price of the item you are paying full price for. So, you are not really using two coupons on one item.

I am so upset, my walgreens would not let me use both coupons for the razor and they adjusted the gum coupon to 60 cents not 1.19 so I spent twice what I had planned. I plan on returning the razors (I live on 2 mins away and I planned another trip for a few things. They only plus was that no nonesense was buy one get one and I need them for work and I found two peelies on the package so I got to double my purchase : ) Did the gum and razor sadness happen to anyone else?

  • Mercedes

    Hi MaryCatherine,
sorry to hear about your trouble. I am thinking of modifying my scenario and take away the $2 off schick coupons because it seems a lot of people get grief trying to use both coupons. In theory you should be able to use both coupons but some times cashiers don’t let you. The same applies with using a BOGO coupon with BOGO sale. Some cashiers can’t wrap their minds around it and don’t let you “get stuff for free” when in reality they are getting reimbursed by the manufacturer.

    Sorry about that,
    Mercedes

I have posted some other great Walgreens deals at my blog. Glade has a lot of great deals this week.

thanks mercedes, I totally missed them on HCW.

I had problem with the bogo razor and the $3 coupon at one store. They wanted to mark the bogo coupon the price minus the $3 coupon, so I actually ended up paying for (gasp) razors.

I was going to take it off my order but it was my favorite store where I am allowed to order tons of stuff so I didn’t want to rock the boat.

There is another Glade Deal for the Glade Scented Oil Candle Holders

Glade Scented Oil Candle Holder: Sale $3.99
*Use BOGO Coupon from 11/2 SS
*Use $2/1 from Nov. All You
    Final Price = $1.99/2

    Gotta Love Glade!

I didn’t have any problems with the gum or razors. My problem was the Nyquil. Not sure what your add says, but mine shows the sale price as 4.49 (not 4.99)and the total participating products had to be 16.00. When I bought 3 the total wasn’t 16.00, so I missed out on the 6.00 RR. I think I’ll go back and return the 3 and then buy an additional Nyquil and use another 1.50 coupon.

The manager said that Walgreen’s is getting very picky about their RR program so read all the fine print carefully, some deals aren’t even letting you use coupons.
    Thanks!
