Walgreens has St. Ives products products on sale and with a Register rewards promotion going on: Buy $10 or more in St Ives products and get $5 in register rewards back.  The Apricot scrub is on sale for $3 each and St. Ives Body Lotion is on sale for $4.

Buy two scrubs and one lotion for a total of $10.  Use three of these $2 off any St Ives Product available at www.stives.com  You will spend $4 plus tax out of pocket and will get back a coupon for $5 off your next purchase.

This register rewards promotion is going on all month actually (ends Jan. 31st).  But the products are on sale this week only.  So get a raincheck if the product you want to buy is out of stock.

UPDATE:  I can’t believe this deal is dead already.  I printed this coupon minutes before  I posted about it.  However it seems that the website got flooded with printing requests and the company chose to pull the plug on the coupon.  While I respect a company’s decision to do this, in my book this is bad PR as it leaves a bad taste on potential customers.  What do you guys think? Coupons are printing again! Hurry up and print yours.

Sweet Diaper Deal at Jewel Osco thru 1/7

Jewel-Osco chain of grocery stores currently has two catalina promotions going on:

  1. Buy $25 in participating products and get a coupon for $5 off your next order (ends 1/7)
  2. Buy $30 in participating products and get three coupons for $5 off your next order (ends 1/14)

I have been following this thread on HCW and it turns out that Pampers Jumbo packs are included in both offers and the catalinas are overlapping.  If you buy three jumbo packs of Pampers, you will get $20 in catalinas off your next order back!  That’s less than $3.50 a pack!  Don’t forget to use the $1/1 coupon from 12/28 Procter & Gamble insert.  The best part about this is that you can “roll” these catalinas or use one generated from a previous transaction to pay for the next.  This is an incredible deal to stockpile on diapers.

Two Hot Deals at Walgreens

Would you like to know how much I spent on what you see pictured? $1.93 after register rewards.  I also have $45 in Dale and Thomas Gift Cards.

Earlier, Angie left this comment on the weekly deals post:

I wanted to let your readers know that there is currently a glitch in the system at Walgreens when doing the Robitussin deal. It is producing double Register Rewards. I printed 5 of The Rob. coupons, bought 5 bottles @ $4 each, and it printed the $10 Register reward, and 2 $5 Register Rewards. Profit of $10. They will probably catch this error soon but it is a great deal while it lasts.

Since I wanted to rent a movie using the Free Redbox code and Walgreens is on the way I decided to give this a try.  So in my first transaction I bought 3 Robitussins and two Dimetapps.  I paid $11 out of pocket and got $20 in Register Rewards.  Then I bought three of the Popcorn, Indiana Gourmet Popcorn boxes for $2.49 (My store is already at 75% off clearance on the holiday items) and five of the cloth gift bags.  I used $10 in register rewards and paid $0.93 in cash. Each of the gourmet popcorn boxes have a $15 gift card to Dale and Thomas that expires on 3/31/09.  I can use those for a birthday present between now and then.

Edited to add: There are two possibilities of why this may be happening: either there is a glitch in the way the promotion was programmed.  Or there could be a second unadvertised promotion running along side.  This happened recently with a Children’s Tylenol offer when a  weekly register rewards offer coincided with an offer running all month long.

If you would like to take advantage of these  situation please remember this:  If this is a glitch it may get fixed sooner or later.  So take that into account if by the time you hit the store you only get $10 in Register Rewards instead of $20.  But if it is any consolation, you are still getting the medicine for cost of tax only.

=$20
-6 three $2/1 Robitussin coupons
-4 two $2/1 Dimetapp coupons
=$10 + Tax out of pocket and you may get $20 in register rewards back or $10 for sure.

I noticed I could only print three of each coupons per computer.  I will keep my eye out on this deal to update you as soon as I find out, if it is a glitch, when the glitch gets fixed.

I just stumbled on a really good deal on pots and pans through Amazon.com. This is not normally the type of deals I write about but just like with the towels, these are things for the house that if bought of good quality they should last you a long time. We have a set of Calphalon pots and pans that we use everyday since we got married (seven years and going strong) and we have had no problems with them. They have held up very well and I don’t foresee replacing them for probably another 7 years. Finding them 80% off is a really good bargain.

PS. I want to add this gift idea to this post since I am already talking about toys. When my first son was born we got a Vermont Teddy Bear as a new baby present. Then last year my husband had a work conference to attend in Vermont and the whole family tagged along. We had a chance to tour the Vermont Teddy Bear company. They put a lot of effort into making sure they put out a quality product. If you are looking for a personalized gift for someone really special you may want to look into a Teddy Bear from this company. I love the one we have and will probably take this opportunity to make one for my youngest. I think he should also have his own Teddy for birthday gift. After all his birthday was last week and I still owe him his present ;-) .
