*Walmart 1-hour In Stock Guarantee Problems – UPDATE 11/29/2013* It seems lots of people are having problems registering Walmart 1-hour guarantee cards. If you’re having problems registering Walmart 1-hour In Stock Guarantee cards, check out my newest post about this issue. I’m doing my best to stay on top of it and try to help some of you work through it. Hopefully this matter gets resolved soon! If you were able to resolve your own issue, please let us all know how you did it.

Last week , I wrote a post on the Walmart 1-hour In Stock Guarantee. However, there’s been some questions on exactly how to get a Walmart 1-hour In Stock Guarantee card.

I originally emailed Walmart corporate headquarters about this, but I didn’t receive a response. So, being the curious individual that I am, I called my local Walmart and asked them how the 1-hour In Stock Guarantee cards work.

The customer service representative that I spoke to told me that customers will be given a card if an item runs out of stock. They can then continue shopping and pay for the 1-hour In Stock Guarantee card when they pay for the rest of their purchases. Customers do not need to pay for this card before the hour is up!

So, where do you get a 1-hour In Stock Guarantee card? This is where it gets a little tricky. Never fear, though! I’ll walk you through the steps you need to take to get a Walmart 1-hour In Stock Guarantee card…

For simplicity’s sake, let’s just say that you want the HP TouchSmart Laptop shown on the front page of the Walmart Black Friday ad. What you need to do is find exactly where to laptop is in the store. One would think that this laptop would be back in electronics, but the associate I spoke to said it could be anywhere in the store. If you can’t locate it within a few moments of being in the store, and it’s not in electronics, the best thing to do would be ask the nearest Walmart associate.

If you find the laptop and it’s out of stock, you’ll need to find the closest Walmart associate near it. (I know for a fact that Walmart associates all have set “stations” on Black Friday, so there will be someone there.) The associate in the “station” that the laptop is in should have the 1-hour In stock Guarantee card for it. He or she will simply hand you the card, and you’ll pay for it with the rest of your purchases when you check out.

Let me just reiterate that you do not have to pay for the 1-hour In Stock Guarantee card before the hour is up.

Here’re some things to keep in mind that can help you secure your 1-hour In Stock Guarantee card on Black Friday:

  • Get to the store early, before the sale for your coveted item starts.

They may have a 1-hour In Stock Guarantee, but there’s a good chance you might have trouble finding or getting to your item quickly with all of the Black Friday craziness going on.

  • Take a copy of the Walmart Black Friday ad with you.

This will make things simple if you can’t find the item you want. Just go up to an employee, point to the item you want in the ad, and ask where it is. He or she should be able to direct you.

  • Take a Black Friday wingman.

The two of you can divide and conquer, find coveted items quickly, and nab the 1-hour In Stock guarantee cards if necessary. Since there is a limit of one card per person, having additional people with you can help you grab multiple items.

  • Register your 1-hour In Stock Guarantee card as soon as you get home.

You only have until 11:59pm on Sunday, December 1st Central Time to register your card. After this deadline, your 1-hour In Stock Guarantee card will become nothing more than a Walmart gift card loaded with the price you paid for it.

So, hopefully this clears up some of the confusion. You can find out more about the 1-hour In Stock Guarantee card and Walmart’s 1-hour In stock Guarantee in general by reading my first post.

Tell me what you think? Is this a good idea on Walmart’s part?
