Does anyone know some good coupon blogs for the midwest? I am in the Twin Cities area and my Smart Source and Red Plum typically do not match the coupons on here. Thanks!

Hello Kelley, here are two that I use frequently, http://www.pocketyourdollars.com or http://creativecouponing.com. Both are based out of minneapolis. Hope this helps.

I have been told not all stores are doing this. Also the lady on the phone for rewards programs said select members are only allowed. Please advise is this is incorrect.

I found the Betty Crocker cake mixes for $1.00 and the frosting for $1.66 and I used a .75 doubled and it made them both just $1.16. They also had Jello pudding for 3 for $2.00 and I had a .55 coupon I found on a tearpad at Walgreen’s and it made three packages just .90. Also Kellogg’s corn pop cereal is $2.50 and the .70 coupon doubles to make the cereal just $1.10. I got free band-aids in the trial size when doubling the .50 off coupons

Are they doubling they coupons that say do not double on them as well?

    • Coupon Cal says:

I have read that some coupons that say “DO NOT DOUBLE” are doubling regardless, and that coupons that start with a 5 normally double at registers that are set up to double, while those that start with a 9 will not automatically double. But trying to double a coupon that says DO NOT DOUBLE is dishonest. There are enough good deals at KMART this week that you don’t need to try to trick them into giving you more savings than they are meaning to offer.

I have also read that some stores are combining 2 B1G1 coupons to give you 2 free products. Additionally, I have read that the cashiers not only may not know about this deal, but they cannot override the amount that your coupon scans at. If your coupon doesn’t double, you’re going to be limited to the face value of that coupon.

      Good luck!

I had a great shopping trip at my local Kmart yesterday in North Hollywood, CA.
I was greeted by an associate, who was gracious. I told him I was looking for the Super Coupon Booklet™, and directed me to customer service desk. I found a circular there and an addition flyer with some store coupons, but not the Super Coupon Booklet™ (which I found lying near the cashier’s bagging area. The store was pretty clean, shelves tidy. I saw no evidence of shelf-clearing, except for the free hand sanitizer coupon that is in the Super Coupon Booklet™. My cart didn’t always fit between the end caps and the added displays, but otherwise is was nice. Two store employees marveled at the size of my coupon binders, and a nice man approached me to discuss how he should be doing this, so I gave him some tips. I picked the friendlier-looking cashier (Esmeralda) and was very polite, thanking her (and eventually, the store manager) multiple times for her patience during the 45-minute checkout. They were very nice throughout the transaction, even though it kept Esmeralda from taking her break on time. No one at the store had ever seen such a long register receipt nor so many coupons. I only used 44 coupons, and saved around 44%.
I misread the $1.50/2 MM’s Brand Chocolate Candies coupon as a $1.50/1, and that’s when “the big cheese” was called over. Once that was straightened out, all went well until we scanned the printable pdf coupons for Scotch Magic Tape:
3M Scotch Magic Tape .75×300 BP 105 (small size) $1.35 sale price
    $1/1 Scotch Magic Tape
    FINAL PRICE: $0.35

Even though the coupons were identical, the register started to balk…and it was the final coupon to be scanned. Arg! Because of the screen limitations of the register, it was nearly impossible to determine which coupon or tape was where, and the cashier and I were ready to give up when The Big Cheese figured it out. She voided all the Scotch tape and all the coupons, then re-scanned the tape and the coupons. She may have been doing some workarounds on the Scotch coupons.

What really took all the time was that we waited until the groceries were all bagged before scanning the coupons. At Kmart, that’s a big mistake. When scanning the coupons, the register would give popup windows on the register touchscreen where the cashier had to select what the exact item was that the coupon was for. Since I had many similar items of identical size from the same manufacturer in my cart, we essentially had to unpack my entire order to find individual items for each transaction. In the future I will attempt to scan coupons immediately after each related item, if they allow me to do so.

I found several coupons around the store, including a blinkie $0.75/1 Twizzlers™ (marked DO NOT DOUBLE, and it did not double). I also found some $2/1 Zantec, and a buy some get some BBQ coupon that included Kingsford Charcoal.

Here are my finds that I haven’t seen anywhere else:

I tried to use a legit internet coupon this morning at my local Kmart and the manager(or at least I think she was) told me that as of a few months ago they no longer accept internet/print at home coupons. They stopped accepting them due to all the coupon fraud going on and fake coupons being submitted. I tried to look this up but can’t find anything. I left empty handed. Can someone with Kmart smarts help me out with this. I thought as long as they were legit and they scan you could use them. She wouldn’t even try to scan them. And this had nothing to do with any of the coupon doubling stuff. I asked her how they were going to compete with Walmart if they quit accepting internet/print at home coupons, and her response was that Walmart was going to quit accepting them as well sometime in the near future. That sounds a little bit off to me, but who knows.

    • Mercedes says:

      Carrie,

Have you tried contacting Kmart customer service? A couple of years ago Kmart came out with an official notice that theye would take printable coupons. however, some store managers are given the freedom to implement their own store rules. it is possible that your store just doesn’t take them.
