It’s Christmas Eve! Most of you probably already have all of your Christmas shopping done and you’ll be ready to nestle all snug in your beds and settle down for a long winter’s nap.
Well, good for you!
For the rest of us, however, it’s crunch time! We’ll be doing a little last minute shopping at some of the stores that are still open on Christmas Eve. Keep in mind that Christmas Eve hours for the individual nationwide retailer stores may vary, depending on the location and individual store. And, don’t forget about local small businesses and malls! These retailers may also be open on Christmas Eve to rescue the last minute shoppers.
The Christmas Eve store hours listed below should be accurate for most chains, but they’re just guidelines.Some franchise stores give employees the choice to close or stay open on Christmas Eve, for instance, and local laws prohibit other stores from being open on Christmas Eve certain hours. If you have some hardcore shopping to do, it’s a good idea to call ahead and confirm the store hours.

Stores aren’t the only ones closing early on Christmas Eve either. Many bank branches will be open on Christmas Eve, but most will be closing early. Some municipal offices will also be closed on Christmas Eve and possibly the day after Christmas.
Mail will still be delivered on Christmas Eve, but most post office lobbies will close at noon. So, if you have any last minute packages to send out, you’d best hop on over there early!
Finally, don’t bother putting your trash out tonight if tomorrow is your regular trash pickup day. All municipal and private refuse offices will be closed for Christmas day and trash pickup will not be available in the morning. Typically, the trash will be picked up the day after Christmas, but this may vary, depending on your location.
