Back to School Giveaway: Crocs Shoes #wingiveaways
Posted on August 19, 2010 in Giveaways

Long time readers know that I am a huge fan of Crocs shoes. Actually I can look at our shoe pile, right here next to me and I can spot about five pairs of them currently in use by myself and my kids.
Crocs for us are not just summer shoes. I actually have a couple of pairs that I use in the fall and they also have a winter line. Crocs is also coming out with a back to school line to take your kids from the playground to the classroom. Shoes like the Genna above that is perfect for recess play and after school activities. With a sporty style and strap for a more secure fit, Genna is one shoe that can keep up with your busy daughter.
For my sons I like this model called Taylor. I think they would be the right shoe to keep them comfortable in the classroom and at the playground. I think the slip on and Velcro strap will make them easy to put on and take on by both boys.

Back to School Giveaway: Bissell Steam and Sweep #wingiveaways
Posted on August 18, 2010 in Giveaways
Some of you may not know this about me but I have a *thing* for clean floors. For me my house is not clean until the floor is clean. Having said that don’t be surprised to know that I pretty much own a lot of floor cleaning contraptions.
It all started with a floor scrubber I picked up at Target 75% off. I really love that cleaning machine but was not always very happy with the cleaning solution I had to use. That’s why last year I was happy to make the move to a Bissell Steam cleaner and I have never looked back really. I love my steam cleaner! But you know what I don’t love? is having to sweep. I think that’s mostly because my dog sheds like crazy and there is dog hair everywhere.
I think Bissell was listening to my thoughts when they came up with the Steam and Sweep because I was wondering if there was a way I could get my floor clean in one pass. So, yeah, that’s what the Steam and Sweep does. With a sweeper vacuum at the front and the steaming pad in the back, you can set it up to do both jobs at once. I gave it a try on Saturday and I have to say that I was impressed that it picked up the dog hair. I usually sweep with a broom because that has been the only way to pick up the dog hair but this machine picked it up and then cleaned my floor with the steamer. If you just want to sweep, removing the pad is very easy and if you just want to steam the floor, it’s just a matter of pushing a button.
There is one thing I didn’t like though. The Steam and Sweep is not as light as just the plain Bissell Steam cleaner and that’s due to the vacuum addition. After I got done using it my wrist hurt a little from maneuvering it. Also, the vacuum reservoir area is not very big. So if you have a lot ( a LOT) of dirt to vacuum you may have to empty half way.

Back to School Giveaway: $150 Credit to Cengage Brain
Posted on August 18, 2010 in Giveaways

Do you know what’s expensive about going to college? Yeah tuition , but also textbooks. Oh my! I used to *drea* getting my list of book needs and it meant to my budget. As a frugal student I almost always bought my books used. But back then, and geez! I have not been out of school *that* long, there was no text book rentals. Well, it seems that since I graduated text book rental has become more mainstream.
Cengage Learning, the country’s second largest textbook publisher, recently launched CengageBrain.com, a website with more than 1,200 Cengage Learning titles for rent – at up to 70 percent less than the suggested retail price. CengageBrain.com also offers e-textbooks, individual e-chapters, and audio books, as well as homework and study tools.
The rental process through CengageBrain.com is simple and convenient for students. When renting a textbook, students get immediate access to the first chapter of the book in e-book format and a choice of shipping options. Once the rental term is complete, students can either choose to print a return label from CengageBrain.com and ship the textbook back, or purchase the title. Shipping is FREE with orders of $25 or above.
But Cengage Brain is not just for college students. You can find learning materials from early childhood learning and beyond. I was looking at what was available for my children and I saw books with learning activities for 12 month olds. School aged parents should check out the resources available for after school support for their kids.
Win a $150 Credit to Cengage Brain
One lucky readers will have a chance to try Cengage Brain and check out the savings! Here is how to enter:

Teenager angst, I think that’s the only one thing I don’t miss about my teenager years. Seriously, how many times did I dread going to school because of an inopportune zit. I am thankful I never had to deal with teenager acne. I seriously couldn’t imagine. I did however see a close friend have to deal with it. Poor thing, I am sure she wishes she had known about Proactiv.
If you have been hearing about Proactiv for a while it’s because they have been available for 15 years. Proactiv is a 3-Step System that gently cleanses and exfoliates while attacking acne-causing bacteria in the pores and soothing inflammation.

• Step 3: The Repairing Treatment penetrates deep into the pore to help heal blemishes and prevent future breakouts faster and gentler. The advanced delivery system is safe for the entire face and any other acne-prone areas.
Trying Proactiv is very affordable actually. It costs only $19.99 for a sixty day trial and if you are not happy with the results you get, it is backed by a full money-back guarantee.
