Oh!  I am very excited about this deal.  If you follow me on Twitter you may have seen me mention that I “forgot” to buy the five boxes granola bars I was asked to bring to my son’s school classroom.  So I had deplete my stockpile.  So, I am happy to be able to get some Special K bars, which they like to boot!.  Ok, here’s the Special K deal at Target.  It starts tomorrow 8/30 and runs through 9/5 or while supplies last:

Get a $5 Target Gift card when you buy 4 Special K items listed below(11.4 to 13.4 oz cereal, 6ct bars and selected others) $2.39/each
Deal Idea for Cereal
$9.56 when you buy four boxes of special K Blueberry
-$4 Use four $1/1 printable coupons (you will need two computers to be able to print four coupons)
Pay $5.56 out of pocket and get a $5 Target Gift Card back. That’s like paying $0.14 per box

Deal Idea for Granola Bars
$9.56 when you buy four boxes of Special K Bars (8ct)
– $2 when you use two $1/2 printable coupons on Coupons.com or from 8/2 RP inserts and
-$2 when you use four $0.50/1 Target Kelloggs Grain Snack printable coupons
= $5.56 out of pocket and get a $5 Target Gift Card back. That’s like paying $0.14 per box

Another Deal Idea for Granola Bars
$9.56 when you buy four boxes of Special K Bars Chocolatey Pretzel (8ct)
– $3 when you use four $0.75/1 printable coupons on Coupons.com
-$2 when you use four $0.50/1 Target Kelloggs Grain Snack printable coupons
= $4.56 out of pocket and get a $5 Target Gift Card back. That’s FREE!!

Please note that the Target printable coupons state one per transaction.  However, I think most cashiers understand that it is an inconvenience for the customers and themselves.  But even if you are only able to use one Target printable coupon, you end up paying $0.52 a box of bars or less.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Make sure to print the Special K coupons before the end of the month, even if you intend on doing this deal later this week.  As I have mentioned before, the coupons on Coupons.com reset at the end of every month.  When that happens the coupons may stay or go away for next month.

Hey you wrote $9.56 when you buy five boxes of special K Blueberry. I think you meant when you buy 4 Thanks 🙂

  • Thanks Bec!! I just caught my error for some reason I read four boxes but brain processed the deal for five. It’s all fixed now though.

The math for the cereal deal isn’t right either. 9.56-4 in coupons isn’t 5.95.

    • Thanks Brandi,

I was fixing an earlier math mistake and skipped that. Hopefully it is all good now. Let me know if you see anything else I missed.

    thanks

    • Hi Val,
Yes, you will get two $5GCs. AT Target the GC will be prompted at checkout every time you buy the correct products.

Thanks for this info. The coupon I got from for the Special K bars was $1.00 off 2 boxes. That would make it $9.56 – $2 = $7.56 gb $5 GC. I have a $5 GC already, so I will only have to $2.56 for 4 boxes, then get back the $5 GC.

Val: yes, you will get 2 $5 gift cards. The way the Target deals work, after they scan the number of items to get the deal, the register automatically acts as though you are buying a $5 gift card, so the cashier charges a card for $5, then it deducts the $5 off the total of your bill. The best way to capitalize on this is to do two separate transactions, using the first $5 GC to pay for the second order of 4 boxes. You will pay less for the second order and still have a $5 gift card.

    Hi Mercedes,

Thanks for the info. Love your blog. I just got back from Target, NJ. Rice Krispies treats original or Strawberries (8 count) is also included in the deal and its only $1.75/box if you buy 4 you also get $5.00 gift card. That makes it 50 cents/box.

Although, when I checked out the register didnt automatically prompt the $5 gift card, so the cashier called the manager so she just adjusted it down to $2.00 but it’s part of the deal she says. Happy Shopping!
