Thank you

More than two years ago we moved states so that we could move to a cheaper area of living (Philly is expensive! and Wisconsin is not so much). I had a 16 month old at the time and my job didn’t inspire me as much as spending the days with my son. So we decided that I would be a stay at home mom. However, living on one income is challenging when you still want to keep your same savings goals.

I knew that we needed to adjust our spending so that we could save for retirement, college education for our kids and still have enough for a comfortable living standard. Before I started this blog we were already living below our means, saving around 20% of our income. Since I have started this blog and particularly since I started using coupons, we have been able to increase our regular savings, retirement savings and now contribute regularly to our sons’ 529 plans.

We wouldn’t be able to do this if not for the inspiration my readers provide everyday. You push me to keep my brain working and be more resourceful with what we already have. You help me be a better steward of what I have been given. Thank you for reading my website regularly and thank you for taking the time to leave comments and send me emails. I appreciate each and every one of them.

Because you come here often, I think it is time you get to know me a little better. If you have a question you would like to ask me, leave me a comment here and I will try to answer it.

Thanks for your visit!

No question, just a comment. I visit your site daily. For the great tips and an inspiration to keep on the right track. Living frugal can sometimes be a daily challenge in this “I want it now” world.

Mercedes, where are you in Wisconsin? Do you enjoy blogging as much as we enjoy your blogging 🙂 ? Keep up the great work!!

    Hi Barbara,
It is hard being frugal. But I have found that after a while it gets easier. You learn to control impulses and plan purchases.
Thank you for visiting! I really appreciate it.

    Hi Anon,
I live in Sheboygan County. I have surprised myself in the past year. i didn’t think I would last very long blogging because I have never been able to keep a journal. but I guess when you write about things you enjoy doing it’s easier. I do take it one day at a time though. sometimes I feel overwhelmed hoping I could do some things differently or better. But each day is a new day and with it comes a new start.
    Thank you for reading!

I know this sounds strange, but you need a pic on your blog. I like putting faces to names. I understand though that some prefer privacy.
I just want to thank you again and again for the help you have provided for my family. We have had a difficult 4 months and all the help you have provided has been a blessing!

    Hi Anita,
I think it’s a very valid question. I am working on it I promise. I will have a picture or video of me posted in the next few weeks.
    Thank you for visiting!
