Walgreens Midweek Ad + Jingle Cash Scenarios

wag logo1 Walgreens Midweek Ad + Jingle Cash Scenarios

This is one more week that Walgreens is releasing a mid-week ad. This ad has additional offers running from 12/8-12/11. The other weekly deals are still available as well. There really aren’t any earth shattering deals to be added. But I did want to share with you some scenarios. The Jingle Cash promotion running this week is making for some good money savers.

Deal idea 1

Buy two boxes of Russell Stover chocolate $8.99 each
Buy one $9.99 toy

Use $4/1 in ad Toy coupon
Use buy one get one free in ad Russell Stover coupon
Pay $14.98 plus tax out of pocket and get back $5 in Jingle Cash

Deal idea 2

Buy 6 packs of Walgreens brand diapers (on sale buy one get one free or 2/$8.99)
Pay $26.97 plus tax out of pocket  and get back $10 in Jingle Cash
It looks like the free diapers were counting toward the Jingle cash requirements making the total $50.
That’s like paying $2.82 a pack  (Thanks My Frugal Adventures)

Deal idea 3

Buy 3 Scotch Precision Cut Scissors, $8.25 ($7.99 at some stores)
Buy 1 Small Filler, $0.12 (one Holiday Pen or tumbler)
Use 3  $1/1 Scotch Scissors Printable Coupons
Use the In Ad Coupon to bring price of scissors down to $2.99 each
Pay $6.xx out of pocket and get $5 in Super Jingle Cash
That’s like paying $0.33 each for the Scissors (Thanks Passion for Savings)

I have some register rewards expiring on Saturday so I will get to my store that day.  I think I will get some Walgreens Brand diapers.  I have used them before and have been pleased with them.  Let me know what deals you plan on getting at Walgreens this week.

Do you know if you can use Jingle Cash (I have some from Black Friday deals I think) for your diapers and still get the Super Jingle Cash? I’m just not totally sure how this is working. :)

    • Jackie says:

yes, you can I did it tonight with the pillow pets they are 19.99 I got 2 and some fillers and recieved $10 in jingle cash for spending $50. I got to use up all of my jingle cash from blackfriday

I like the scissors deal idea, sometimes they are like pens, can’t find when you need it.
I like to keep a pair in the car, nightstand, etc, easy grab for coupon cutting :)
Since these cost so much before coupons, etc, they should be pretty good.
Maybe they’ll be nice for wrapping paper and not cause the snags that tear the paper off the border.

    • Mercedes says:

      Maria,
You are so right! I have three scissors and currently two are “lost.” I like to keep one in several places for coupon cutting too.

MERCEDES I HOPE YOU HAVE VERY GOOD FRIENDS OR LOTS OF COMPUTERS BECAUSE THER IS A $ COUPON ON WALGREENS DIAPERS AT REDPLUM! (33186) USE 6 AND THAT WOULD BE LIKE PAYING $1.82 PER PACKAGE!

  4. Jennifer says:

I am going to try the coupons tonight.

  5. Heartland Hannah says:

Awesome, thanks! I didn’t realize you could get Jingle Cash on the value before coupons!! That’s terrific : ) My house also eats scissors so I’m really excited about that one. Somewhere in my house has to be a large stash of scissors, pens & socks because no matter how many I buy they disappear ; )

  6. Jan says:

I just tried the scissors deal with bottled water which I had to take somewhere and the amount was over $25.00 before coupons but after coupons I didn’t get the jingle cash. Did I do something wrong?

    • Julie says:

I just came back from Walgreens and did the scissors deal…bought three (3), they were 8.99 ea. before the Walgreens coupon that made them 2.99 so they were over 25.00 before coupons. Gave the MQ’s first (3) and then the walgreens coupon. Total was 6.75 w tax and I got a $5.00 jingle cash…yeah!! I love these scissors, I have two already…

  7. Heather says:

Our store doesn’t do the 4 day ad????

  8. Erin says:

SCOTCH CUTTERS RINGING UP AT THE SALE PRICE INSTEAD OF THE REGULAR PRICE.

bad news on the scotch cutters. I planned out my whole trip and everything. my total should have been just over $75 before all my coupons and it was $26 after and I have a whole bunch of rr from previous week, so I was hoping to spend 15 and get back 21.50 . . . well the scotch rung up at the 2.99 price and when the scan the coupon it just adds it at 0 . . . my total was 74.25 and I only got $10rr instead of $15rr . . . big bummer. so you guys may want to watch out and see what they are ringing up at.

    • Kristina at Balancing Budgets and Babies says:

I wish I would have seen this yesterday! I went out last night and had the same experience with the Scotch paper cutter and was just coming back to let everyone else know. I had planned mine out perfectly, even putting some stuff back to hit right at $25 to get at a later trip to use with different register rewards, etc. But NO Jingle Cash. Big bummer is right!
