Buy three Splenda Sweetener $2.99
Use three $3/1 Splenda Sweetener Product 4/17/2011 SS Insert (exp 5/2/2011) or  $2/1 Splenda Sweetener Granulated with Fiber

USE two $3/1 RR from transaction above
Pay $2.46 and get back one $3 RR from Fruity Pebbles

The Fruity Pebbles Register Rewards deal is an unadvertised offer.  But that is listed on the Catalina Company’s website as currently available at Walgreens.

In the end you spend $4.45 out of pocket for $24.92 worth of goods.  But you still have $3 in register rewards to spend on your next transaction.  That’s like achieving 95% savings!

What’s your plan for this week?

you will have to excuse me ( i am new ) but where does the ~~~~~Use $1.50/1 Luster White 7 Product 4/3/2011 SS Insert (exp 5/31/2011)~~~~ come into it? what is that coupon good for?

    • hi Tosha,

Thanks for catching that. My original scenario included that, but I decided against it

  • lisa

Wouldn’t you get more back if you purchased 2 Splenda and received $3 RR. That’s $1.50 each, whereas the 3 purchased and receive $4 RR would make it $1.33 each. Maybe my math is wrong.

    • Christina

I did that on my trips yesterday and day before. It is better math.

Today I went and did 3 transactions:

    1. Gillette Disp Razors on sale BOGO 50%, Used BOGO coupon from insert two weeks ago plus a RR. Spent $2.48 for 4 Packs instead of $25.96

    2. Angelsoft TP on Special, 2 Scott Naturals PT (6 Rolls) still on special, 3 bottles of Palmolive DS, 3 bottles of Sinful NP, – Used in ad coupon for Palmolive, 2 $1 off coupons for Scott from inserts last week, and 5 RR from previous purchases. Total spent $.64 instead of $26.15

    3. 6 boxes of Splenda on SP for $2.99/bx used $3 off each coupon – spent 0.00 plus they gave me $4 RR.

I walked out with a total of $7 RR so I made money on the whole trip 🙂

Christina, it looks like you combined a BOGO at the store with a BOGO coupon. I am new to this and am curious what happens to the price when you do this. Thanks so much for your help.

      • Christina

Yes it was a BOGO coupon for Gillette Mach 3/Mach 4 razors. Walgreens had them BOGO 50% off which doesn’t show up until they total. So I bought 4 packs. 2 were free using the BOGO coupon and then the other two were the half off ones from their sale. I combined it with RR from the Splenda to bring the total to $2.98 for 4 packs.

I was able to do this a few times. I did it again today too. I was worried it wasn’t going to work.

Thanks so much…I will try it soon.

          • Cristina

I wonder how it would work with a BOGO 1/2 coupon and a BOGO 1/2 sale. Would they somehow combine?

        • Tammy F.

So, okay, I’m trying to figure this one out. I have 1 BOGO free coupon and Walgreen’s has a BOGO 50% off. Doesn’t that mean I should get 3 for the original price of BOGO 50% off price? Let’s say $9.99 is the price, so for $15.00 I should get 3, right????

          • Christina

You would get 4 for the price of one. 2 would b free and 2 would b half off. Mine were I think $6.97 a piece before everything. So i paid that..but i applied previous RR to it to bring it down

          • Tammy F.

Yeah, but didn’t you use 2 BOGO free coupons? I only have one.

        • Jill

Hmmm…I tried that same type of scenerio and it didn’t work for me. I went to Walgreens with BOGO coupons on a BOGO 50% sale and they charge ME the full price and took the 50% sale price off of the coupon. Did they charge me wrong?

          • Tammy F.

The exact same thing happened with me today. I even talked to the store manager and he said that they did it right. Although to me, it’s wrong. If I paid for 2 full priced razors and the cashier took the “free” razors off at the half off price how am I benefitting the BOGO 1/2 off sale? I’m still paying full price for two razors!!

  • Isabel

I have a question about adjusting coupon down at walgreens, I know the register will beep when the coupon value is greater than the sale price, e.g. Splenda coupon is $3 but it’s only $2.99, how about I buy 2 splenda but use only 1 coupon? Will it still beep? Thanks.

    • hi Isabel,
In that case, at Walgreens at least, the coupon will not beep. That’s because the register “adds up” the value of all items and applies them against the coupon.

      • Cristina

So does that mean that the overage goes toward the rest of the order. As in the Splenda scenario above, the extra penny would go toward the other box?

        • Isabel

I think so, just did it tonight with 1 $3 and 1 $2 off coupons and didn’t beep at all!

  • Katie Adams

I was looking over this weeks transactions that you suggested…my store does not have the Splenda listed with a RR. Is this something that is not listed in the add or what?
    Thanks Katie

    • Christina

Its not advertised as RR. It will print when u check out. If u get 2 a $3 RR will print. Buy 3 and a $4 RR will print. So do them in transactions of two to get the best RR. Also, do NOT use the RR from the Splenda to buy Splenda. It will not print out more RR if u do.
