Comments

  1. Laurie says:

“All prices are after 85% discount” he he he…. I wish the discount was 85%! My coupon only says 15%, though! ;)

  2. Victoria says:

Do you know if you have to print out multiple 15 percent off coupons for multiple transactions? TIA!

Also, I was wondering how the Joint juice bogo coupon would work with this deal?

    2 Joint juices at $10
    - 15%
    Total = $17
-bogo coupon (would it take off 10 or 8.50?)
    = $8.50 or $7
    Get back $10

  3. Lynette says:

    Hey Mercedes! :)
Everything sounds wonderful but the truth of the matter is that, by tomorrow, I’m sure Walgreen’s WILL be out of most of this stuff.

  4. Andrea says:

Do the Pull Ups work for the RR’s, too?

    • Mercedes says:

They sure do Andrea. The coupon in the children’s activity book doesn’t work though on the pull ups.

      Mercedes

      • Laurie says:

The coupon I have (which I’m pretty sure is from the activity book, exp 3/30/10) says $1 off Huggies diapers or training pants and has a picture of both diapers and Pull-ups. I’ll be putting up a fight tomorrow if they tell me I can’t use it.

    • Marcia S says:

I have gotten the Pull ups and the RR’s is working but both times I used the wag’s $1 off coupon it beeped! The MOD did take the coupon he thought it was because huggies changed the pack sizes and the coupons were not adjusted!

    • Andrea says:

Thanks, mamas!! Know what I’m stocking up on! LOL! :D

  5. ras says:

Thanks for this list! I just did my first ever “drugstore game” trip to Walgreen’s today (of course, I chose the day before a great coupon came out!), and am totally hooked. I plan to go back tomorrow for the huggies, 3 musketeers, venus and dove deals.

One question — when I tried to use my RRs and coupons today, the register balked and wouldn’t do it until I added something else to my order. I knew that I had to have as many items as I had coupons, but I think maybe I needed more items than coupons? Here’s what I did:
    2 bottles children’s motrin ($3.99 each)
    - $3 off 2 manufacturer’s coupon
    - $4 RR from a previous transaction.

So I had two items, and I tried to use two coupons. But now I’m thinking that since the coupon was an “off of 2″ deal, that it maybe counted as two coupons? The transaction went through after I added a candy bar onto my tab, and I did get the $3 rr for the motrin. Just wondering if my explanation is correct, or if there’s some other rule I’m missing?

    • Mercedes says:

That’s exactly it Ras! The $3/2 coupon “attached” to both bottles of tylenol so you still needed another item for the RR.

      You are doing great!

      Mercedes

      • Andrea says:

WOW! Glad that came up! I would have assumed it counted as one. (Like I need any more grief at my Wags! LOL!)

      • Laurie says:

Wow, I’ve been reading this site for almost a year now and doing deals @ Wags the whole time, and I never had anyone tell me this. The whole time I’ve been blaming the store coupons or thinking the Qs had to be entered in some magic order. My deals went PERFECTLY today after I gained that knowlegde! Thanks so much Mercedes (and Ras for asking)!

  6. Lori says:

What zip code are you using to see the $5/2 John Frieda coupon?

  7. rebecca says:

Unfortunately, since the 15% coupon reduces prices, it affects eligibility for RRs – so the John Frieda example WON’T net you the $5 RR – because you are only spending $12.75 (before man coups) and not the full $15. If it was stated as “buy 3 get $5 RR”, that would be a different story, but in this case the shelf tag reads “spend $15 and get a $5 RR”. Bummer, because this is a deal I wanted to do! Might do it anyway even w/out the 15% off!

  8. Jaclyn says:

FYI- the 15% off is per item, not at the end of the transaction……so if the John Frieda is buy $15 get $5RR back then you would need to buy 4 @ 17.00 (4.25 each)to get the $5 RR to print. I know this happend to me months before on a RR deal that stated the price limit. So be careful if it is a RR deal where you have to purchase a particular dollar amount! If it’s buy 2 products & get a RR then you are good!

Also the Walgreens coupons adjust themselves down with a 15% off discount- like the Huggies coloring book coupon! Mine rings in at .85 cents off instead of $1.00 when I use the 15% off. STRANGE! Also for anyone who needs the code for the Huggies coupon from the coloring book have your cashier enter enter- 2035. My Walgreens excepts it, but it will depend on your cashier! Works on Huggies diapers, not Pull ups. Hope this helps! =)

  9. Dagmara says:

I can’t find in ad coupon for Rembrandt toothpaste? Do ads vary by region? Im in New Mexico

  10. Tara says:

Why doesn’t the John Frieda Root Awakening coupon show up when I click the link? Is it gone?

  11. Sarah says:

Can you do the Kotex and Huggies in one transaction and get both RRs? I believe they are both Kimberly Clark products, and in the past I have had problems when the same manufacturer offers the RR with trying to roll them. Of course, if the Huggies deal is still rolling (I don’t know if it is on not), then it probably will work.

    • Laurie says:

THE HUGGIES DEAL IS NOT ROLLING ANYMORE!!!! (not yelling, just want everyone to see this, I just happened to check the post again last night and saw it wasn’t or I’d have been trying that today) And great post! I’ll keep mine separate, to be sure! Thx!

    • Laurie says:

DANG IT!! I separated the Kotex and Pull-ups into 2 separate transactions , but then used the Pull-ups RR to pay for the Kotex, and the Kotex didn’t print. I know better, but w/ a scREAMing 2 yo in tow, it slipped my mind. SO WORD OF WARNING TO THOSE OUT ROLLING THESE DEALS TODAY, WATCH THE KIMBERLY CLARK PRODUCTS RR!!!!

      • Juanita says:

That happened to me also. I bought Huggies ealier this week and then went today and bought Kotex and this RR did not print. It gets confusing enough with multiple RR’s to keep them straight and not use one for the same product, but now I have to watch for who the product is made by also????

I got a good deal, but the cashier had to re-do the whole transaction and split it up and she kept forgetting the discount and it took 10 minutes to check out.

  12. Megan J says:

Really great deals, thanks! I’m nervous about going back to my Walgreens, though, because when I was there 2 days ago the cashier refused to take my coupon for the Dove Men+Care bodywash. She said that their new manager was very strict and told them they aren’t allowed to take coupons for anything that would generate a RR. I called corporate and they seemed to confirm this (the woman said that RR’s can’t be combined with any other offer and this includes a manufacturer coupon). Any insight on this? Have others called corporate and received the same response?

Best wishes to all for stocked shelves and helpful cashiers!

    • Carrie says:

That is COMPLETELY insane! I swear, I have so much trouble at the 3 Walgreens in my area (Dallas) it is just not worth the headache anymore.

    • Anthony says:

Hmm… I use MFC’s all of the time for items that produce RR’s. Unfortunately, the store managers are allowed to accept or reject coupons, seemingly for whatever reason they think is necessary.

    • Mercedes says:

There are several Wags in the Houston area that will no longer accept internet coupons. They are also refusing separate transactions for the same item.
When I tried to use a RR for an item that produced a RR at one of those stores last week, the manager refused – he said there is an “honor system” that customers need to respect. He claimed that Walgreeens will go out of business if customers try to “get free items” with RR’s & coupons.

      • Mercedes says:

Walgreens will NOT go out of business. That statement is absolutely ludicrous! They get reimbursed for evey coupon and register rewards that people use. PLUS lots of sales are a sign of success. This is the comment from someone who doesn’t understand marketing or how the coupon redemption process works.

        Mercedes

        • beth says:

No, they won’t go out of business for the reason Mercedes said plus
they make all their profit off perscriptions. the rest is just
loss leaders to get us to buy our pharmacy stuff here, not cvs.

    • MIchelle says:

In this weeks ad there are several mentions of “look in sunday’s paper for additional savings” attached to several items generating RR. I would ask the manager why the ad tells you to look for coupons to use with the RR generating item. I want to say that the venus razor/gillette fusion razor is one of those items that has that line above it.

As soon as that wording starting coming out in the ads, and was pointed out to a cashier with that same attitude at our store, the tune changed for the better.

    • Kristan says:

Just got back from my Walgreens in Louisiana and the manager said they were no longer accepting internet coupons. The cashier had already scanned some coupons like the Dove and oOrbit gum and they had gone through, but the Rembrandt coupon would not. The manager came over and then said they were no longer taken internet Q’s and made the cashier redo everything. Such a sad day for me.

  13. April says:

I just tried to do a Huggies Deal using the 15% off, $3RR from previous Huggies and $2 printable. The cashier said that I couldn’t use the $3RR and $2 printable together. She said they were both Manufacturer Qs and couldn’t be used together for the same item. I don’t get it… I told her nevermind, I was going to look into it myself and left the store. What a bummer.

    • Amy says:

You can use both the MQ and RR, but you will need to add one small item to use both Q’s. You have to have the same amount of items as Q’s. Also, you will not get another RR if you are using the the Huggies RR to pay.

      • April says:

Thanks Amy, I had been doing the Huggies deal all week (with adding a piece of candy) and it was rolling at those times (I just saw that it is no longer rolling). But, I have been doing this deal all week without issue. This cashier refused to even scan my coupons. Oh well, I may have just gotten a disgruntled cashier. I’ll try another Wal-greens.

  14. Mercedes V. says:

Please help – I’m confused about how many fillers I need at Wags. Manufacturers coupons & RR count as “coupons”. Coupons from weekly in store ads, “Diabetes & You” type ads, “February 2010 Coupon Book” and “Children’s Activity Book” are NOT counted as “coupons” when calculating how many fillers I need?

    • Laurie says:

yep. RR are actally a mfr Q just as the internet printables or Sunday newspaper Q’s are. all the Wag’s Q’s (in ad, instant value, etc) are store coupons; those don’t say “mfr coupon” on them… I usually just watch for those words when in question. HTH! Oh, and PS, since RR are a mfr Q, other stores WILL take them (like Jewel Osco, for sure!) if you don’t want to spend your money back at Walgreens.

    • Laurie says:

Oh, and as we commented above, apparently if you have a $2 off 2 Q (for example), it “attaches” itself to BOTH of those items, so remember that when planning enough filler items. That one was news to me, and since I learned that, it’s been a breeze checking out at Wag’s.

      • Mercedes V. says:

Sigh of relief!!! Thank you so much for the clarification. I have been buying way more fillers than were necessary.

  15. Maureen says:

You can also get a free 8×10 photo collage today–upload your pictures at home and pick it up in the store. Use code VDAY.

  16. Amy says:

I bought the Vitamin Water Lip Care yesterday and paid $2.99 and it did NOT print out a RR.

    • holly says:

I just got back from WAGS. I didn’t buy the lipcare because the girls at cosmetics told me the RR deal ended Sunday for that.

    • Emily S. says:

Same here…thankfully I caught it before paying and had them take it off. Kind of threw my transactions off a little, but I was able to come up with a quick substitute.

I’ve seen a few people say this is a month long deal, but it isn’t. It was just a weekly (for last week).

  17. jane4girls says:

there are some decent Excedrin deals with the printables and RR too, I have it listed on my blog

  18. This morning, I got a pack of Huggies, a Dove Men’s Body Wash and two bottles of Children’s Tylenol for $10 OOP (I used an $8 RR) and I got $12 in RR’s back! I love bargain shopping! :)

  19. holly says:

    Thank you for this list!!
The orbitz gum was not marked on sale but it WAS ringing up $1.50 before discount.
I think the Quilted Northern 9pack for 3.39 is a good deal combined with the $1 MQ.
I bought 6 packs of diapers. Then I bought vitamins I needed and used up almost all of the RRs to pay for them, since I used the candy bars as filler.
It was great! They were so helpful and let me do so many transactions with the discount.

We forgot to scan the in-ad coupon though for the candybars… so I paid 40cents too much for them.

*In the math above, it should state $1.96 for 4 candybars.

  20. ras says:

I just got back from my Walgreen’s foraging. I managed to get the dove, venus/olay, and huggies deals, so I’m happy. I also bought the vitamin water lip balm but didn’t get a RR — not too upset ’cause I’m a lip balm junkie and I’ll take any excuse to try a new one.

Thanks to your tips, btw, I was able to pick up two of those activity books with the coupons in them. Got them for $.79 with the 15% off coupon, so they’ve already been moneymakers for me just using the huggies coupon alone. I don’t know why, but that fact in particular tickles me.

  21. Brandy says:

Just got back from Wags and the Huggies deal is not rolling anymore. I am in Dallas. Not sure if that is the case everywhere but it didn’t work for me this time.

  22. Amanda says:

I had the same problem today with the Dove Men’s care not printing a RR. Well, I think the computer just wasn’t because they said they’d had problems since the power went out earlier this week (due to snow). It was a huuuuge ordeal, they said I couldn’t use the coupon, too, because I was already getting it free. I didn’t argue that they’re getting reimbursed because she had an attitude already and I just wanted to go. BUT they took the 15% off for F&F and then gave me a handwritten RR raincheck for the whole price. Ummm, duh, people! Same thing, except you’re not getting reimbursed for the 15% savings…

  23. Lisa P. says:

Thanks, Mercedes for some more great deals! I just got back from Walgreens in MS and didn’t have any problems with any deals!!! I am SO blessed to be surrounded by Walgreens that are drama free!

  24. Michal D. says:

    Wierd thing
Can someone please explain me why the $1 wags coupon for the huggies became $0.85? I don’t really understand that… you get %15 on purchase, why are the coupons going down by %15 too… First time that i see that.

Tried to pay the Huggies with the RR’s that i got from other purchase and as everyone know alrealy it’s not rolling, so the lady canceled everything and redid the purchase and i paid with other RR’s.

Got my free pics, one for me one for DH….love it..

    So wasn’t that bad of a day…:)

    Thanks Mercedes for everything…

  25. Michal D. says:

Oh BTW there was a deal also for the Crest tooth paste.
Anyone did it? Didn’t work for me :(
Gotta check which blog posted about that… :)

  26. Rae says:

I went last night to Walgreens expecting to do the Children’s Tylenol RR deal…buy 2 @4.99 and get a $3 RR…however I realized I didn’t want the Tylenol plus cold… I just wanted plain Children’s Tylenol (Regular no added cold). The regular was on sale ($2 off regular price) making it $3.69 for the 4oz bottle. I had a coupon (from january, I think RedPlum, but not foresure) for $3.00 off 2 Tylenol added with the $1.00 off Walgreen coupon in the CHildren’s activity book. Making them $1.19 each or $2.38 total…So, I went ahead an bought them even though I thought I wasn’t getting a RR…(btw was cheaper because of the 15% discount) however when I finished the transaction….To my belief it printed a $3 RR….Yeah I was soo excited…SO it was a Moneymaker!!!!

    Deal Scenerio-
    Buy (2) Children Tylenol 4oz @ $3.69 each = $7.38
*Use $3.00 off 2 Coupon from Red Plum January sometime…sorry I can’t remember which one
*Use $1.00 off Walgreen Activity Booklet = $2.00 off
Pay $2.38 oop and get back $3RR

Maybe it was just luck…but hopefully it works for others.

*Also the Huggies $3 RR cannot be used for the Kotex Tampons…same company and will not distribute a RR…at least at the 2 stores I tried.

  27. Gina says:

I bought the diapers and the tampons in one transaction y’day and was surprised that RRs printed for both (didn’t think about them both being Kimberly Clark)
