I’m SO excited!
I finally got something from my UPS guy today that I ordered from Amazon last week! Now before I tell you what it is, let me say that this stuff is HARD to find, and I was shocked when I ran across it while browsing on Amazon for rabbit. I also got such a smokin’ deal on it. Needless to say, it’s going to be a very special dinner tonight!
Guess what I’m having for dinner!
Yeah, that’s right! Unicorn – yummy, yummy glorious Unicorn meat!
It’s just canned Unicorn meat, but still… I really can’t afford the fresh stuff these days anyway.
The first time I had Unicorn meat was back in ’38 during my safari in Zanzabar. I was actually hunting zombies, ’cause I had a hankerin’ for Zombie jerky at the time and really didn’t expect to see a Unicorn until I almost hit it with my Badonkadonk Land Cruiser. Boy was I shocked! Who knew Unicorns were in Zanzabar!? Especially in Zombie territory?? Weird!
I know, I probably shouldn’t indulge, considering they’re endangered now and all, but I really couldn’t help myself. If you haven’t had Unicorn meat yet, you really don’t know what you’re missing! It almost reminds you of chicken, only a lot tastier. Almost buttery, really. It definitely doesn’t taste anything like Dragon meat, which sometimes tastes like burnt shoe leather to me.
Even though Unicorns are pretty active and muscular creatures, the meat really isn’t stringy or tough at all. The trick is to sear it on all sides and braise it for several hours. Of course, this is canned Unicorn meat, so it’s already quite tender. I would know, ’cause I already opened the can and stole a piece…
Okay, off I go to fire up the slow cooker! I’ll let you know how it turns out!
