What is Nielsen Homescan?
Nielsen Homescan Consumer Panel is basically a consumer research study. If you are accepted as a panel member, you will be sent a small hand-held scanner so you can scan everything you purchase. Once a week, you’ll send this information to Nielsen and earn points which can be redeemed for gifts.
This program gets mixed feedback. For some the program has worked really well and they have been doing it for some time. For others it has been too much work. You can read here what others have said about it. That should help you make the decision on your own of whether to try this or not. The good news is that if you sign up for it, you can stop doing and send the scanner back at any time.
