Top “Kid Friendly” Halloween Movies!

Halloween is my favorite holiday especially now with kids! From the cute decorations and costumes to candy, caramel apples and late night fun I just love it all! So if you’d like to bring the Halloween spirit into your home, you’re in luck! I’ve put together a list of some fun “Kid Friendly” Halloween movies you can watch all next month!

  1. Hocus PocusYou’re in for a devil of a time when three outlandishly wild witches who have returned from 17th-century Salem after they’re accidentally conjured up by some unsuspecting pranksters! It’s a night full of zany fun and comic chaos once the tricky 300-year-old trio sets out to cast a spell on the town and reclaim their youth.
  2. Scooby-Doo (on Netflix too)In this live-action feature, Scooby and the gang journey to a Spooky Island, where a magical force is awakened that could spell doom for the human race.
  3. Toy Story of TerrorBuzz and Woody are back again, this time the characters end up stranded at a roadside motel and as toys start to disappear, the crew has to band together to figure out what’s going on.
  4. Double, Double Toil and TroubleMary-Kate and Ashley Olsen star as twins Kelly and Lynn Farmer, who must outwit their mean Aunt Agatha, a nasty witch, to save their family’s home as they stir up a bubbling Halloween brew of spellbinding adventure, spooky delights and fun for the whole family in Double Double, Toil and Trouble. 
  5. Caroline (on Netflix too)From the Director of The Nightmare Before Christmas comes a visually stunning stop-motion animated feature. Coraline Jones is bored in her new home until she finds a secret door that leads her into a world that’s just like her own…but better! 
  6. Casper a live-action fun house ride filled with laughter, excitement and ghostly surprises. “Ghost therapist” Dr. James Harvey (Bill Pullman) and his daughter Kat (Christina Ricci) arrive at drafty, old Whipstaff Manor. Its greedy owner, Carrigan Crittendon (Cathy Moriarty), has hired Dr. Harvey to exorcise the house’s apparitions: a friendly but lonely young ghost named Casper, who’s just looking for a friend, and his outrageous uncles Stretch, Stinkie and Fatso (The Ghostly Trio). 
  7. The Addams FamilyThis film details the lives of the spooky Addams clan as they try to determine whether a member of the family, Fester, is actually who he says he is.
  8. Scooby-Do 2: Monsters Unleashed (on Netflix too) The lovable, easily frightened Great Dane, Scooby-Doo, returns to the big-screen when Scooby and the Mystery, Inc. sleuths confront an anonymous masked villain plotting to take over the city of Coolsville using a monster machine that creates Mystery Inc.’s classic foes such as The Pterodactyl Ghost, The Black Knight Ghost and The 10,000 Volt Ghost.
  9. Monster Family  (on Netflix too) – The Wishbone family is far from happy. With a struggling bookshop, an overworked husband, and two misunderstood teenagers, Emma is at her wit s end trying to be the perfect mom. 
  10. Ghostbusters (FREE for Prime Members) –Ghosts invade New York and force a trio of spirit exterminators to save the city in one of the biggest comedies of all time.
  11. The Little VampireTony befriends a young vampire named Rudolph who asks Tony to help him find an ancient amulet that will grant Rudolph and his family their ultimate wish … to be human again.
  12. Goosebumps (on Netflix too) R.L. Stine’s tales take on a life of their own in a series that combines original stories with adaptations drawn from the popular books.
  13. Harry Potter Based on the wildly popular J.K. Rowling’s book about a young boy who on his eleventh birthday discovers, he is the orphaned boy of two powerful wizards and has unique magical powers.

**Please note that while my kids enjoy these movies I recommend watching them before hand as you know your kids best and what they can handle and what might give them nightmares.
